Unable to Research Transmuted Gear ...

Hello!
Not sure if researching transmuted gear is intended or not intended.
Either way, the UI displays conflicting info when I go to research a transmuted piece. See screenshots below with a transmuted nirn iron sabatons in character inventory.
- If researching IS intended, the gear piece does not appear in the research window ... and the button to click "Research Trait" is grayed out.
- If researching IS NOT intended, the trait in the researchable trait list (in this case nirnhoned) still displays in the UI as "Researchable".
Which is intended?
I am able to work around this issue ... with decon of the transmuted pieces giving me raw nirncrux to make new regular iron nirn pieces for research.
In the meantime, reporting this issue as a bug in these subforums. Thanks, ZOS!

if it is locked, unlock it and try again, if it is not locked, then I wholeheartedly agree with comments #2 and #3.If you see me anywhere. The iron sabatons were not locked, no. Correct, the iron sabatons were crafted as reinforced at level 1 on my main crafter (Magicka Sorc) ... then transmuted to nirnhoned with the intention to research on my Stam DK pictured in the screenshot.Transmuted gear is not researchable, and ZOS explicated stated this during the PTS. So the UI suggesting that an item exists would be the bug.
Thanks @code65536, did try to search for this info in the forums first, but no luck earlier.
