Mouse Pointer Issues

Anyone else getting a weird pointer that looks like it belongs on a Commdore64 in the 80's. As cool as it looks I can't actually see the pointer when trying to click on potions or gear and have to move it around until I see something get highlighted. It also can't drag and drop without leaving an imprint of the gear on the screen permanently. Alt - F out of the screen will return it to normal until I need to use it again.

Any tips? I can't screen shot it because I have to use the mouse and it makes it disappear.

Commodore 64 command to list the files on the floppy disk. The "$" stands for file listing, the 8 indicates the floppy disk.

Open your map, click very deliberately anywhere on it, without moving or dragging while clicked. This should restore your pointer to its normal state.

Have you tried:
System Preferences > Accessibility > Mouse & Trackpad > Uncheck Spring-Loading delay

I had the same issue today, and what fixed it was:

System Preferences > Accessibility > Zoom > uncheck Smooth Images

It was the only box in Zoom that was checked, and unchecking it removed the magnifying box around the cursor.

Nope, it's back. It doesn't seem to be causing me any serious issues for now, but hopefully it'll get sorted out.

I've been having the same issue. I can't even play because whenever I try going into my inventory, map or what have you, it lags my whole system out. I've tried turning my addons off and everything and still having issues. My mouse & trackpad are both super slow when the pointer messes up. Have any of you guys updated your OS to High Sierra? I was fine before I updated my computer.

Thats exactly the issue I have been having since the update to High Sierra.

I am having the same issue with the pointer. The mouse pointer is distorted and frequently disappears. I was hoping that the update today would fix the issue, however, it did not. I contacted Apple and they indicated that it was the game developer's responsibility to fix.

Its Apple's problem. I talked to my IT guy, and he said it was High Sierra that caused the issue. I'm hoping that Apple puts out an update soon so that it can fix bugs like this.

I can confirm.

I have a MacBook Pro hooked to an external display via Thunderbolt 2. Interestingly enough, I have no pointer issues when playing on the built-in Retina display only.

The problem arises when I launch Elder Scrolls Online on my external display with the lid closed and peripherals connected. Hope this information helps.

GPU: Intel Iris 5100
macOS: 10.13.1

It's to do with my Elgato. When I record that's when the pointer issues begin and if I unplug it it goes back to normal.

This is still a problem. Has everyone with this problem submitted a ticket (/bug in game) and with Apple?

Hi Folks,
I have been going back an forth with Apple for the last few days. Apparently unless the problem exist with all games, the developer will have to provide a fix. Apple is not committing to a fix. I submitted two tickets to ESO 11/30/2017 and 12/4/2017 under two different categories and have not received a response on either. Followed up on one yesterday. I did received a survey though.

After a bit of email tag with ZOS, they've told me my mac (mid 2012 model), falls below minimum system requirements, and there is nothing they can do. So either I need to get my system upgraded and overhalled, or I have to buy a new mac.

Have you guys been experiencing this on newer Macs?

No luck updating to macOS 10.13.2, the pointer issues persist.

I'd wager a significant percentage of ESO for Mac users have "unsupported graphics cards", so why not fix those issues and even optimise the game for Metal down the line and gain a popularity boost on the platform?

Oh yeah because it costs money.
But then again crowns are overpriced..

Anyhow, here's hoping.

Yeah graphics cards for the win. I don't know why ESO has to update its minimum requirements EVERY TIME we get a new OS. its like.....why?

Now I need to either buy a new computer or build my own gaming rig, just to play properly. Because you can't put a new graphics card into a macbook pro.

Its always coming down to money.

Mine is a iMac late 2013, I7 3.5GHz, 32GB, Nvidia GTX780...
I have this mouse issue. But what on this issue is specs related?

My iMac specs are as follows:
iMac (27-inch, Late 2013)
Processor 3.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory 32GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M 2GB

I have the pointer issue, and seriously doubt being out of date or spec is the issue. It is the developers not adjusting the code for the changes in High Sierra for those with Nvidia graphics cards.

I'm on a Mid-2015 MBP and have the issue. I was fine until I upgraded to High Sierra to get the Spectre and Meltdown patches. I honestly don't care whether ZOS points fingers at Apple or vice versa -- it has been 2+ months that people have been complaining about this. Please fix it. Or, if my hardware is now too low-end for the game, tell me that and I'll just cancel my subscription.
