Maelstrom Arena Bugs and Other Issues

After grinding vMA for a couple weeks, I've noticed some recurring issues pop up consistently from run to run. The arena is meant to be difficult, so I've made sure to only note things that seem like technical issues or poor design issues.

STAGE SPECIFIC ISSUES
-Stage 1 - Clanfear leap attack animation looks awkward when initiated from long range
-Stage 2 - Flipping switches sheathes weapons
-Stage 4 - Clockwork sentries are immune before their shields come up
-Stage 5 - Ice islands don't allow smooth transition from water, causing player to get stuck
-Stage 7 - Poison plants sometimes ignore player proximity (usually between rounds), preventing the player from strategically baiting the explosion
-Stage 9 - Voriak Solkyn's necrotic blast interrupts/ignores player roll dodge (upper level crystal phase, specifically)

COMBAT CUE ISSUES
-Attack effects not representative of their effective areas (or latency favors server over client);
---Clanfear leap attack (stage 1)
---Lamia Queen scream aoe (stage 3)
---Matriarch Runa's ground trail (stage 5)
---Argonian Minder aoe after teleport (stage 7)
---Infernal destroyer flame trail/path AOE (stage 8)
---Most trail/path AOEs that radiate out from enemy (any stage)

-Attacks without combat cues;
---Most trail/path AOEs that radiate out (excluding infernal destroyer)
---Crematorial guard flame breath

GENERAL ISSUES
-Bash fails to interrupt enemies despite being close enough (archers, dremora kyngalds, Voriak solkyn, etc.)
-Synergies are unresponsive
-Player AOEs expire/disappear before their duration is up (true outside of arena as well)
-Player skills activate upon resurrection if they were used right before dying

Nitpicks
-Larger mobs like the Frost Atronach (stage 5) and the Infernal Destroyer (stage 8) don't represent their large melee range very well. It might be an animation issue.
-Synergies' visual effects on the player could be more intense
-Dremora Narkynaz (stage 9) take very long to summon a Bone Colossus. Could probably be more punishing
-Spectral explosion (stage 9) being available makes synergies unusable
-Stage 1 feels too bland/simplistic

    ya especially considering the interrupts in vma are pretty much required

    This has driven me mad the last few runs.

    I feel like an addict with vMSA..i love it. It's pinnacle solo content, and yet so many bugs. So much frustration, its definitely a love / hate thing.

    If only they would take a pass through the code to.make.it as good as it should be..

    I think the poison flowers are supposed to be on a cooldown, so you can't just bait every flower between rounds.

    Regarding unbashable enemies, that's specifically a desync bug where the server says the bashable thing is standing in one spot, but your client says otherwise. Annoying as hell, especially for the stage 8 kyngalds.

    Good writeup/compilation though. I'd still like to get an answer as to why daedroths and clannfears were changed across the board a couple of major patches ago (Morrowind?). They're now far more annoying than before, which isn't much for the clannfear, but the added stagger and damage for the daedroths makes them a pain.

    I also found out when you go up to crystal phase you weapons are sheathed so using the skill for example takes longer and you need to dodge the first skull

    with my sorc i found out use heavy attack/skill dodge works otherwise if you use skill or bars switch you will get hit by the skull as block will not work as well ... its like your character skills are on pause for a two seconds or more

    Never encountered the one in Stage 9, roll dodge has always been fine.

    I confirm Stage 5, it's not smooth to reach the platforms, sometimes you get stuck on the "step".

    Stage 6 and 7 are afflicted by many glitches/bugs not reported here and confirmed by other users.

    & purple rings do not drop from any mob or chest in vMA

    and with a simple research you can find more, like the non responsive interrupt on stage 8 reported multiple times recently.

    hmm haven't experienced any of those. i made sure to only include issues that came up more often than not. thanks though

    -Stage 7 - The wamasu spawn on the floor ... Come-on this bug is here since ORSINIUM RELEASE !!

    -Stage 8 - The pets always attack one of three stone even when it's not needed ... this is very annoying to call him back EVERY SINGLE TIME

    oh wow that's so true. can't believe i spaced it. that happens more often than not for sure
