Do you lose items after a period if they expire from Guild Store?

So a few months after morrowind released, I took a break of a few months, and I've just come back to the game.

I noticed I had lots of mail saying that I had items that had expired, which is to be expected..... however, none of the actual items were included with the expiration mail. Did I lose the item permanently?

Now, none of the items were anything super-valuable, mostly just recipes and stuff, but I'd just like to know how exactly it works, so I make sure if I'm going to take a break that I unlist all of my guild store items before.

I think you do lose them. If it's like the guild store purchases, they say you have 30 days to get them. I can't remember exactly what the mail says, but I have an item from a non-trader guild expiring soon, and I can double check.

You may be able to talk to ESO Support or something, but if the mail does have the 30 day warning, they wouldn't be required to return the items.

If a listed item is unsold after 30 days, it will be returned to you.

If the item in the return mail is not retrieved after 30 days, it disappears into the void.

So you have a total of 60 days from when you list an item before that item is forever lost (assuming that the item does not get sold)--30 days for it to expire from the store, and another 30 for it to expire from the mail returning the item to you.
