Please consider removing the necessity to have 5 INTACT Pieces of Light Armor to use the shield

Thing is that in most situations i can compensate the loss of armor, passives like spell penetration, cost reduction, etc.
But when it comes to the shield it is plain and simple very annoying because that is the part that you can simply not compensate.
Please remove another source of unnecessary death.

Why are you in a situation where you're fighting with broken armour?

Aside from repair kits, there really isn't any content in the game where you have no opportunity to repair between fights if you need to, so the gear should never be totally broken to make the shield inactive is there?

I realize that because of the recent change, the fact that you need 5 INTACT pieces of armor to use your armor skill caught many people by surprise.

Nevertheless...

There's an easy fix. Bring armor repair kits.

Short of extremely long trial boss fights, there shouldn't be a time when you have broken armor that can't be addressed by repairing your armor to full before you begin. And if you are dying that much on long trials boss fights, hopefully you are training to die less.

i agree, as long as you wear 5 pieces of light armor, people should be able to use the light armor ability whether armor is in tact or not.

progressing hard mode asylum, situation happens a lot to our magblades and you cant repair armor when youre dead so people end up having to repair midfight

also zos, let us charge weapons when we are dead. hard mode asylum is a long fight and weapon charge loss is almost a guarantee

AutoRecharge saves lives, literally. It'll repair your armor as soon as you get up from a rez.

Sorry if you're on consoles. But, generally speaking, you should be making sure your armor isn't about to be messed up before you enter a fight... the behavior is consistent with other mechanics (set bonuses don't activate if the armor is broken) so I see no reason why it should be an exception.

vAS, particularly if you're doing the harder modes, is single fight that can last very long and is very death-prone. It's not uncommon to see a group that's new to that trial take an hour and have something like 20 deaths per person.

Learned this the hard way in vAS too. I had enough time between mechanics to slot mist form though. Personally I am against changing this behaviour, because I am afraid ZOS will break stuff by fixing this.

I noticed this in VMA recently I would get to round 7-8 with 1 death lag death and my armor would break during the boss fight and I can't shield because my armor broken.

Tutor Riparius will be more than happy to take you money for repair after every arena at the reward chest, and after every death if you respawn at the wayshrine. You can repair your armor easily in Maelstrom Arena. If your armor is broken in Maelstrom, repair more often.

It kind of makes sense that using 5 pieces of light armour you'd want a shield. With heavy armour you are more "protected" so wouldn't require such a shield. It would be nice yes. But the way they have designed this is kind of ok imo.
