They don't care, they're too busy counting your money
I'm a PVE roleplayer concerned about my vampires stage 4 skin tone and keep getting load screens so I came here to distract people from major issues with a rant thread about my characters cosmetic appearance.

Yes we finally got an official statement about 20+ hours after the issue was reported. If a significant portion of our customers at my business were reporting issues with our product making it unable to be used and we waited 20 hours to give them a response, we wouldn't have any customers anymore. Must be nice to be able to have a business model where screwing up regularly costs you hardly any customers. You just get to say "oops" and try again. Seems like i picked the wrong industry to get into.

    Edit: For Clarity

It's not that you picked the wrong industry to get into, it's that this particular industry has conditioned the market. Think about it, DLC used to be considered an act of satan. Now it's near 100% acceptable to release a 1/3 developed game at full price and sell the rest as DLC because EVERYONE is doing the same thing. Over the years, that conditioned the market and it became the norm. Same for Day 1 Patches. Same for pay for betas. Same for never ending betas. The list goes on.

If most of the industry gets in on it, you can condition the market to whatever you desire. Because ... what are the customers gonna do about it?

Well said. It's on us too for continuing to buy the products as they changed.

How is this different than any other dlc patch? DLC= poor performance= people complaining and demanding.

Maybe instead of just getting compensation, we could get a double AP weekend or something?

That sounds like a good type of compensation to me. Many other games do this type of stuff when there is unexpected server downtime in excess.

We did post in a couple threads about this late last week, and we also discussed it on ESO Live Friday afternoon. We'll try and get an update tomorrow for everyone, but at 10pm on a Sunday, there's nothing more we can say right now that hasn't already been said.

Sounds like it's not being taken seriously if 10pm on a Sunday is an issue.

Thanks for chiming in at least. So can we expect an update tomorrow morning with some ACTUAL information, not just a generic "we are looking into it". Bc that's literally all that's been said.

You didn’t say anything about it during ESO Live other than “We are looking into it.” :/
Where is a public announcement as to what your plans are? What actions are being taken, specifically? What you are planning? Why it’s been a week of unplayable PvP with no fix?

    What’s so hard about that?

They did say they had the people from multiple teams looking into on ESO Live. That is an action.

According to the poll I’ve made, most people on these forums supposedly feel as though these problems we are experiencing on console aren’t deserving of a form of compensation either. Regardless of some of us being ESO+ subscribers or not. Rather disturbing, yet interesting stuff.

No, it’s not. It’s a generic response, not an answer. Answers provide quantifiable information that give insight and knowledge into what is being done. A response is the same thing as say “mhmm”.

These issues don’t really affect Asylum Sanctorum, but they are really bad in other trials. I’m more curious whether these load screens/crashing will go away this patch or if we’ll have to wait until Q1 2018.

I’m doing the solo only stories on a new character....we all know nothing is addressed fast on consoles, so maybe by Thanksgiving we’ll hear their plans for a future update. I am curious if non Xbox one x folks have the same game files....and if so...prob a cause of the infinite load screens.

Yes I get the infinite load screen as well on my xbox one x. But i also sometimes get 15-20 second load screen when the game isnt glitching.

Seriously guys chill. They have acknowledged it, that's all you need to know. Step by step updates won't fix it any quicker, and if they update is 'we are investigating' that still won't be good enough for you.

It's a multiplatform problem so no doubt they will be talking with Sony and Microsoft too. But just leave them too it, there's plenty of the game that isn't crashing, I haven't had one yet in PvE / Battlegrounds.

Or just play something else, it's a game. Not some life critical system

She has conveyed they are aware of the problem and they are working on it. She has also conveyed that they hope to have an update on the issue on Monday. I don't know what you were expecting a mod to tell you about the problem but that really is all you need to know until they have a concrete fix.

Responses like yours are the reason why communication from ZOS is so bad. They are damned if they do and damned if they don't with people biting off their heads when they do provide information.

All joking aside. This is frustrating for everyone who has to deal with it, but if there isn't any solid information then there isn't much the community team can say.

Unless people literally want hour by hour posts of "It's still broken, people are working on it, this one dev did go to the restroom at one point"

This is the same with almost every MMO game when a major issue comes up, everyone starts screaming for "more communication" when there isn't much which can be said past "we know, it's being worked on".

They actually conveyed a little bit more information on how they try to find these bugs (like creating hords of bots to emulate a full server). As always the problem in software development is trying to recreate these problems in a test environment and due to the nature of a MMO this can be challenging.

Still, a pinned post on the general forum and maybe an announcement on the loading screen that they are looking into it would help address a a few concerns of people what the status is. Remember not everyone watches ESO Live (or even knows that the show exists ...) ;-)

It would be embarrassing, but I think that if ZOS can, they should put in a little update soon that comes up with a notification on your screen if a load screen is never going to end, so you can close app immediately instead of hoping it's just taking long like usual.

Actually I meant the launcher screen (the one that currently advertises CWC), even if most players won't read that ....

Getting sick of DCing in trials every 5 minutes on PS4. When I’m not DCing, the lag makes the game completely unplayable. Getting sick of permanent load screens in clockwork city among other places. It’s not like I’m on Maccas wifi or anything, my net isn’t the worst. Unacceptable.

Until they nail it down, "We're investigating" is the correct answer. We might not like it, but it's honest. Hopefully they did some work over the weekend since this is considered by many to be a game-breaking problem and not something they should just turn off the lights on Friday and say "We'll work on it again on Monday".

I suppose this could be a product of rolling hundreds of updates into one patch, instead of doing incrementals every couple of weeks. When you make so many changes in one update, good luck figuring out which one broke the game. I don't envy the dev team on this one. Perhaps if they had made balance tweaks and adjustments/bug fixes over a series of updates and then dropped CWC all by itself, it might have been easier to pinpoint which change caused the eternal load-screens for console. Here's hoping for a fix real soon...

You are on the right track but a failed loading screen right now should obey the inactivity time out and auto kick you from the server. This is why it seems to me that code is hanging in the process of relocating you on the map within the loading screen.
