Seriously. If I stumbled across something working obviously not as intended I would probably have a panic attack worrying about getting into trouble over something I found. I wouldn't be all like, YES, everyone, lets go do this thing right now. Its super cool. You cannot tell me that the people that did this were not aware this wasn't working correctly.

Let me guess, you are possibly worried, or you know "someone" who has done it.

As any normal decent player would not post on the forums painting exploiters in a favourable light.

Exploits bad don't do them. If it feels wrong then it is wrong. They knew it and took the chance. Spin the wheel take the deal.

If someone chooses to drive 120mph on a residential street and gets their license suspended, should we be mad at the legal system for banning them? Or BMW for making the behavior possible?

Their testing for content is very sloppy, see all the patches and their results in bugs. Mol was exploited in 4-5 diff. spots.

it is not like ZOS screwing up somehow legitimizes the actions of the exploiters

the important thing to remember
is that the only group that actually suffers in all of this
is the legitimate players who did not take part in the exploit
as they are the ones who have to suffer through the actions of the exploiters and the patch downtime to fix a bug on ZOS' part

The exploiters could even choose to look on the bright side,
they don't have to sit and wait on the download traffic of the patch to fix this

Meh, they been playing the game long enough to know the risks so none of them are surprised. They will either play something else, grind new accounts OR buy an account so y'all need to calm down, all will return to normal.

Hilarious that they spend time on this though yet they STILL won't reply regarding the ABSOLUTE LUNACY of this travesty

It's kinda funny how the people that glitched the banker survey and made millions got a slap on the wrist.
The ones that went into vma and farmed vma weapons by jumping to the last boss didn't get anything.
The people that got their dromathra destroyers doing the exact same thing and nothing.

Idk about the xbox people but I know for a fact the people in PS4 only did it once and did not plan on selling skins.

I agree. The track record here for punishments is not consistent, nor is it any good. I had to walk away from the whole topic a long time ago because it ticked me off so much. I'm hesitant to say this is a step in the right direction, since every single time the answer is something different. One time of being hard about something does not erase all the times nothing was done.

Where is the line between mechanics and exploit though? No perma bans went out for all the groups standing on the rock on vHRC first boss to avoid damage (most didn't even know this was not intended until it was finally fixed recently). Or was kiting the Ozara adds out of the room in vSO an exploit? Seemed like a smart strategy to me until ZoS fixed it recently.

How about the last boss of Arx Corinium, is it an exploit to stand in the safe area the does not receive AoE damage? In vDSA final boss, is positioning to get one flame Atronach instead of four going to trigger the next round of bans? Which things are considered smart mechanics vs unintended exploits?

I don't know the specifics of the vAS exploit, maybe it was obviously cheating, maybe not, but I don't like the idea that finding safe locations in any boss encounter can lead to a ban.

Given that ZOS nuked one of the threads from orbit... I don't think these guys are going to get off that lightly. Sure, time will tell, but still.

Or
Stumbled across it by mistake?

If it's the former, they get banned, good riddance, if it's the latter, then yeah ZOS went overboard.

Almost certainly the former. Being able to snuff a hardmode boss without entering the arena, so you don't come under attack? Yeah, a couple shots would be an accident. Grinding down the boss is deliberate.

CE is like the tide - you'll be surprised how many people would get caught when the tide goes out - wanna be streamers and youtubers included

Am somewhat surprised this one has been allowed to publicly run so long,
they may be trying to smolder out the agitation a bit tho

not expecting a reversal, hoping this signals ZOS getting more tough on the issue despite previous leniency
but will not know what it may or may not represent until later

We may never know the truth
ZOS, on the other hand, probably has all the discussion and everything before, during, and after the fight in logs
presuming all voice comms on console pass through the game server

Yes, if they just did it a couple times for their own achievement and the perfect weapons a perma bann would be too drastic.
After all if you find an exploit like this you would want to try it, then replicate it

I applaud when Zos actually takes a call to action. We certainly pay them enough cash flow with the Crown Store and ESO + and DLCs. Lovely to see them metering out some justice for those who legit worked hard to get that achievement. Exploiters deserve what they got.
