So, I jumped into Cyrodiil for an hour last night to finally start my grind to Caltrops. I'm someone that doesn't enjoy pvp and never has, and I have to say, I don't know how much of a grind it is going to be. Without much effort, I leveled Assault from 3 to 4, a third of the way to 5 in about an hour of travelling with the DC group and attacking AD objectives. (When I entered Sotha Sil, the entire map was yellow.) I treated it just like a dolmen group and used zone to link up with the big group out there. I'd probably have unlocked it already had I started on Saturday instead of waiting to the end of my Sunday to attempt it. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be--not by a longshot.
Just a PSA for any non-pvpers like me that have been holding off.
Character Profiles: Puck Tanglevine - Bosmer Nightblade Cyron Kane - Imperial Dragonknight (Retired)
PVP is fun. The things that will make it not fun, are the things that you let have power over you.Granted I haven't been feeling well enough these past couple of months to dive head first into a 30 day campaign. That will change in time as I heal.
Do not go into Cyrodiil thinking that you are a weak link. Go into Cyrodiil with the intent to learn things about your self and your play-style that will help you anywhere in the game. Play your best and ask questions. You will make great friends in all factions. That will take awhile but those friendships last.
Support roles in the three banners war are, keep defense, keep repair,Siege Repair, scouting, and accurate reporting when a keep is being sieged.
These are best for new people and uncertain people when they first enter Cyrodiil. When you are comfortable with what you are doing type LFG in Chat.
It is always good to get new people in PVP I hope you stay in PVP and participate as much as you feel comfortable doing.
Every person on a Siege counts, Every heal counts, every snare counts. Big or small it adds up. Trust me on that the Grand warlord who hands out the ROTW is a cheap Bast***. He wouldn't be giving you a box of goodies unless you earned it.Watch him though he may try to short you an item or two.
Cat-Traps and Vigor are easier to get when you are not focused on them. Back when Proxy-det was the thing it was crazy grind.
You can always count on epic battles at BRK/ROE/CHAL/Nikel/sej and the always reliable Alessia Bridge. The D-ticks add up. Except for Alessia Bridge that is just a place to go slay and be slayed. Don't let getting killed in the PVP part of the game get to you. Read the death recap. It is all equal, you are there to kill either Pact/elfs/smurfs and they are there to do the same.
Moving the skills would be opening a Pandora's box of discord. That box was opened once and the PVE crowd lost the Cyro Buffs that used to work in PVE as well. Then the AR/AP requirements went down for the Assault and Support skill trees. And that kinda hurt considering the amount of effort and pride that I had in earning those. It made others I know upset as well. These skills are not hard to get now. You can always link up with others in your faction who are in the same situation as yourself and join a campaign. Have fun laugh it off. It can be fun, It can be intense battles, It can be Euro Horse Simulator 2000 ! It can be anything you want it to be! The disposition is up to you! If you are AD PC NA Vivec give me a shout in game same name as here just with an @ in front of it.
And Op congrats on getting the Cat-Traps!!
