Sharing some street selling rules with U noob sellers! Rule 1 : Never COD!

I have 3 trading guild in main towns, but I still like street selling CUZ higher profit and more fun.
Let me share some street selling rules with U noob sellers.

1, Never COD, always meet trade.
If PPL really want to buy your items, they won't mind taking 1 or 2 mins run to U. Some ppl say "Com'on, I am in dungeon/Cyrodiil, COD me." Don't trust, must be Nigerian prince.

2, GOLD only
Don't trade, unless you really want PPL's item. Many poor/cunning guys like using cheap stuff to trade your rare items.

e.g. 10 hollowjack motifs to trade your hollowjack mask, 1 wrothgar golden recipe to trade your mazzatun motif, 1 golden imperial motif book to trade your Buoyant motif, 6 wax + 1 temp + 10K to trade your 2 mazzatun motifs.

If U R not familiar with market price, always go GOLD only.

3, No bundle sale, no whole sale!
Always sell your item one by one, never go bundle sale.

4, If ppl ask u "HM", always reply "offer?"
Don't give them your price, let them offer. Those ppl are NOT real buyers, they just want to analyze the market price, or just harass U.

5, No mercy to noobs/kids
You must hear this "Com'on, I am new in the game. I only have 5k. Plz..." No mercy! Trust me, if you believe, then U R the new in the game.

Wrong on the COD....I always COD, it keeps you from getting scammed. If somebody refuses to COD it to you then they're probaly the one trying to scam you, trading is the game to me. I've had alot of experience buying/selling....I'm in 5 major trading guilds and get alot of stock buying in zone. I COD everything.....

1, No add-on in Console.
2, Can sell only 30 items in a guild.

And do COD - 99% of people pay within a few hours. Occaionally a necrotic hoarvoar will take weeks to pay, but very infrequent. If you can't wait a few hours to get paid off COD - then you need to curb your spending.

I always COD its convenient and I usually split the cost with the seller/buyer. I would prefer not to meet up with somebody just to trade when they could mail it to me in half the time even if I'm paying a convenience fee. The only rule to CODing is to check attachments before accepting. I bought 6 perfect roes one time but the guy tried to cod me ebonthread. Luckily I'm not an idiot and double checked. ALWAYS double check! Other than that though COD is the way to go if you ask me.

I Always COD (when selling) waiting a few days for the return if it doesn't sell is a small price to pay vs. getting scammed or making a mistake.

And btw, the entire post is practically null by your last point. "5, No mercy to noobs/kids" so...advice to noobs = no mercy to noobs...

Anyone demanding to face trade gets ignored by me.

This Forum is filled with people being scammed by face trading, COD however is secure. The only downside is people can be trolled if a buyer holds onto the item up to 3 days - however its still secure, you always get your Gold or Item back, so its a tenuous complaint.

Trading is for items and mates, not buying / selling.

People having problems with COD...lol.

Been playing since beginning on Xbox and never had an issue with COD.

Pro tip: Charge the tax with the COD price. If the buyer is serious they won't care about the other 1-2k.

Except it is. If the package gets returned (3 days) you get the COD fee and even the postage back.

Regarding the fee if the package is accepted one of you agrees to eat the fee upfront, and if the item is consequential enough, the buyer will front the COD cost.

So, unless basic math is kicking your ass, COD is never a bad way to go.

Idiot trolling new players COD any of XYZ and returns the items costing the sender the tax price which can actually get pretty darn hefty especially when it's mass alchemy ingredients etc.

Yes, that was done to me, no, I did not care about the gold loss BUT I will no longer COD.

Nice that you all obviously have so much coin that this does not matter to you,
but some are not swimming in gold.

@Coatmagic , it's not about being rich. It's the fact that it's straight up wrong.

Pick any bs item, a loaf of bread for instance.
COD it 10 g to someone.
Wait three days.
(No loss of) profit.

The caveat to this is that you have to actually look at the returned email. If you take all attachments on autopilot, you'll add the gold back to your balance, even if your inventory is full (with the item staying in the mail.)

It's been a couple years back now that this happened and the mail was immediately returned and when I said the guy does he know that people have to eat the cost he said something along the lines of then eat up...

I complained that changes needed to made to the system (back then) don't know if they ever were; sounds like maybe they did, but I'm old and set in my ways, so i'll pass

@Coatmagic there is zero lost money, and it's been this way since the beginning (because I've had items returned since the beginning.)

If you mail without COD, items autoreturn in 30 days.
If you COD, items autoreturn in 3 days, or immediately if refused, returning the items and all fees.

It's all about the D in C.O.D. No 'D,' no fee...

@VinyParsley2016 there's no COD fee if they don't pay, and everyone knows you add the tax cost to the price. You agree that with the seller / buyer too.

Face trade has scanned people out of hundred of 1000's of gold COD can't do that

And the thread you keep linking is about someone try to blag a kid with a price four times the normal rate who held onto it. They lost nothing but 3 days.

Your advice will cost people dearly as so many scammers about right now trying funky stuff in trade
