I encountered a child upon selling Aetherial Dust, who offered 255k and told me to send it. I asked him to group up and see if he actually had that amount. He said he had 3.4 Million, so assumed 255k was nothing to him. I sent it and he decided to be a dickhead and said he will hold it for 3 days, which seems to be the limit. Just cause he felt i was being a jerk for selling it at that high value. He offered that amount to begin with. We need to shorten the COD time to an hour or so. What is reason for having the right to hold someones stuff you dont want for 3 days?

That should of sent red flags up when they offered 255k when dust is like 75k-80k... least of PS4 it’s at that price.

I'm a multi billionaire...and I am 13 years old. I would like to buy your PS4. I will offer you 5k in cold hard cash. You know I'm good for it since I'm a billionaire.

So hand me over your PS4 and you will get your cash in 3 days.

Okay, specify. Were you trying to sell it for that price initially and he offered to pay it, or was that his own offer? Because if it was the former, then selling an item several times greater than its actual worth is a *** move. 255k is a pretty big chunk out of 3.4 million.

No matter how unreasonable you think someone's price is for something, or how much of a "jerk" you think they're being for asking it, it does not, IMO, condone such rude behavior.

I just don't see why people take such offense at the prices people ask... Just don't buy it...

I'm sorry someone decided to take time out of their day to be such a rude person, with no other purpose than to make your day worse. :( It's sad that kind of behavior makes so many people feel better about themselves these days.

#1, how can you tell he's a child? #2, if you told him to grow up because he was flaunting his 3.4 million total, then what the **** did you expect when he pulled one on you like that?

I get that showing off doesn't make you popular, but if someone says they have x amount and they want to pay you y amount for something that isn't worth as much as that, why the **** would you choose to be rude about it? Alright, there's probably a 50/50 chance that the offer is too good to be true, but as a trader you need to take risks to reap the reward. Screwing up your chances isn't the right move before making a deal.

Hmm, you know I think a lot of posters are skipping over the word offered and what it means to the whole story

    of·fer

    verb
past tense: offered; past participle: offered
present or proffer (something) for (someone) to accept or reject as so desired

Sounds to me like the "child" offered a price and found out he over offered after the cod was sent and decided to be a *** about it. OP was greedy but "child" went back on his agreement or was deliberately trolling OP with lies.
As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.

Dust is still in the 80k to 110k range. Mythics were selling 25k to 30k before the double xp fest started, and bumped up a bit because of the higher demand.

255k is far beyond the boundary of "Profoundly ridiculous".

You don't have to post definitions for us, I'm sure we're all laughing for the same reason: that one guy who always overpriced everything finally got trolled.

Aside from that, I agree the COD timer should be reduced.

But not before this guy learns his lesson.

If you don’t like that COD rule don’t sale that way.
I get why it bothers you but 1 hour would remove the purpose of it. You’re experiencing one of those purposes.

I often use COD but at certain prices, I just won’t and don’t trade either.

If you use COD to sell expensive items, then you are the monkey tbh.

You just open yourself up for getting trolled.

Either use a guild seller or cash up front.

Except he wasn't overpricing it himself... The price was offered by the buyer, not the seller. If you're a normal person who wants money, you probably would just accept the offer too yourself even if it is overpriced because the BUYER offered it, not you.

Most likely, some troll purposely gave the seller a random high number, and the seller was like "Oh, okay then. If you want to pay that much, I'll gladly take it" but then got trolled.

Sure, the seller could've refused the offer and explain that it was overpriced, which is the nicer and more right thing to do but your average human isn't honestly going to care, just like how your average human isn't going to care about the fine details of the wording of a post.

Firstly nobody knows if it was a child or not. If you thought it was a child and were going to take advantage of him then you got what you deserved IMO.

But once again, nobody really knows AND if someone is going to offer that kind of money for something they could easily purchase for less then why not sell it to them. I'd probably sell it to them, but I suppose that's s the risk of COD transactions. You can always meet face to face for a transaction that doesn't happen unless the other both people accept it you don't even have to wait an hour. Either make the trade or keep your item...simple.

I don't have a great deal of sympathy here. There's options that don't put you in that situation. Call it an acceptable risk of doing business by COD with strangers.

How about making it so the guy sitting on the CoD can't purchase from other players until returning the CoD. If you have a pending CoD you can't do another if you are the buyer.

There are people who are not like that at all...A few months back, I was looking for a Spriggans armor piece...forget which one...saw on zone chat someone was selling...whispered him a price...he whispers back that the price I offered was too much and sold it to me for 10k less than what I offered...
