Do you obtain your end game gear mostly without guild?

How do you obtain your end game gear? With guild, without guild or somewhere in between?

I just posted this but I've obtained 100% of my end game gear by soloing or pugging, and that is precisely why I play ESO. This game allows me to obtain everything I need without having to join a guild. In-game guilds are typically riddled with elitists and I'm more than happy to not interact with them. Sure pugs have elitists too, but I can always kick them or leave myself without running into drama. I'm only in trade guilds to sell stuff. As for the rest, I prefer to do things on my own.

- For the purpose of the poll "end game gear" is defined as gear you perceive as items that does not need to be replaced for extended period of time. For example epic quality (not legendary) armor that used to be BIS previous patch but is still good enough to handle most/all ESO content will be sufficiently considered "end game gear".

- Also if you are only partially geared with end game items, only count the end game gear you have in possession for the purpose of this poll. For example if only half of your gear is considered of end game quality, but you've obtained the said end game gear on your own, then 100% of your end game gear would have been obtained without help from guild.

Disclaimer: There are plenty of nice people too and I've made friends with many in guilds I used to be in. I occasionally group with them for fun or help out, but never for the purpose of specifically obtaining end game gear for myself.

When Shadows of the Hist first dropped, I took advantage of people running trials like crazy to pug AA multiple times a day to get my Necropotence armor. During dead nights I'd kill the Atronach a few times to see if I could get anything decent.

I don't think you've put a lot of time into finding a good guild then. I'm in 5 guilds and not one of them is "riddled with elitists"

I make most of my end game gear, and the few Trials Sets that I see that are interesting to me are more a Niche than a General Purpose set up.

vMA? Doing content that needs the gear you are doing the content for is kind of pointless in my mind. If I can get the gear, then I don't really need the gear, do I?

Now, I do run with Guild Mates for various monster items, but really, most of my characters just use an appropriate shoulder.

One of my trade guilds runs the Craglorn trials and Maw every Saturday, and I've been running with them for a long time. So when I get an alt leveled up to 50, I generally have enough VO/TFS/Twilight/Moondancer/IA to outfit them. I supplement that with crafted stuff or overland stuff that I make or obtain on my own.

With that said, I don't really go to my guildies specifically to get help farming gear, aside from the ESO+ free trial weekend where some folks from this same guild helped me farm up some SPC while I had access to IC.

I had to vote other, because I run with 2 RL friends all the time. One always rolls a tank, and the other is always a healer no matter what game we're playing. The 3 of us pretty much faceroll any group content since we've been playing together for about 15 years now. We are also a small guild of RL friends, that way there's no drama. Therein lies my problem. We're not a traditional "guild" but I'm also not solo.

Mostly thanks to the people of my guild, which was founded after many of us left another due to its gm becoming an elitist. I rarely pug nowadays.

I think we maybe need to define ‘end game gear’ though because ain’t nobody farm Mender/IA for the easiest examples, or other trials sets alone. Even if a guild picked up a spare or 2 in Craglorn- it’s still help from a guild.

Depends on your definition of guild help I suppose. I've run plenty of trials with my guild, but generally we're all after the good stuff so it's not shared around. That I don't really class as guild help. Now if they ever get around to carrying me through a vet trial....

But some stuff has come from a guild group specifically to help one or two of us get some gear. All my BSW dropped from a vCoA farm run for example, actually in 3 runs I had a full set of divines and all the jewellery too.

My answer would change depending on what is meant by "end-game gear" though. OP leads me to believe we're talking about gear from dungeons and trials.

Perhaps, I've only gone through about ten guilds. There was one guild I did like, but one of the co-lead was the biggest elitist I've seen in ESO so I had to leave.

Weird poll.

umm, I got most of my end game gear by solo'ing or duo'ing with my partner, but we're in the same social guild, so does that count?

I've never pugged a dungeon. ever.

My 'social' guild is fun and non elitist. We run normal trials for anyone who wants to join every Thursday night and Friday is 'pledge night' for anyone who wants to do them.
I've had groups with people who have never done a dungeon before, and we help out, explain the mechanics and offer to help them improve their character, if they want.

This is us Blades of Vengence if anyone is interested in joining a fun, social group of people. We're an Australian guild so these events are run at 8pm Melbourne time.

I've technically gotten ALL of my end-game gear with the help of a guild. My friend guild, which is my actual, real life friends. So, I'd like to think that getting their help, and me giving my help in return, is irrelevant to the fact that we are in the same guild.

Nevertheless, I'm fortunate enough to be in two guilds that are very helpful with gear. One has guild crafters that people can put in an order, which is free under a certain level without mats, and free for max level if you do provide mats. The other one, my PVP guild, will help players get whatever gear they need to have the sets that will support the raid.

There are quite a few guilds that are neither elitist, nor even elite - many casual players like you and me.

For end game gear I try come up with builds which avoid anything that requires running the same dungeon over and over hundreds of times. Probably never going to compete on PVE leaderboards, but these builds are at least viable for surviving in PVP. Have also completed several veteran dungeons and some normal trials.

Had to grind a specific dungeon for a couple set pieces in the past and will never put myself through that boredom again.

I recieved most of my armor by myself, although some of my trial/dsa weapons were obtained while running in a group with my guild.
