I hate kids
I didn't think my loathing of the youth would be relevant when playing an 18+ mmo...
A kid (of 13!) has recently joined our guild. He joins every trial, every party, every conversation. He's not the only one, they're everywhere.
Do other adults get frustrated with the presence of kids in ESO or am I particularly intolerant?
Reframe the issue,
you are an adult, and the potential for a positive influence,
for an individual in a setting where they actively want to be
you have more of an opportunity to reach them with a positive message
than most of the adults 'forced' to deal with them in their day-to-day lifehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxsOVK4syxU
Opted for medical sterilization so as to avoid the possibility of having kids of my own
potentially hate children more than you
Except that it's not her job. People come here to unwind and play, not to tutor others.
You have a way to never deal with kids again, but I'm sure suggesting the method is illegal.I appreciate that my desire to play an mmo without anyone under 18 present is purely self-serving and selfish! They have as much right to play as I do.
I was just curious whether sharing a social space with kids annoyed others as much as it annoys me
In a perfect world I'd not have to deal with youth.. at all... ever

If I knew they were a kid I would actually be more tolerant of immature behavior.

Regarding a couple of comments about 'tutoring'. I have no issue with tutoring and helping others... In fact, I run a guild that was set up for precisely that purpose! My issue is purely having to deal with children 'socially'. It's not something I would do in any other domain of my life, I actively avoid them.
Again, I'll reiterate... I accept that my dislike of the youth should have no bearing on anyone else's gameplay. I was just curious whether others feel this way.

This kind of applies to life in general, not specifically video games, but this whole "Not my job/responsibility" mentality is an issue in the world. Bystander effect, herd mentality, a good number of people grow up having things handed to them, watching the world operate without their input, and end up with the idea that "somebody else will do that".
We're all part of the same world, somebody should step up and invest in it if they intend on leaving the world a better place.
We're individuals, yes. We're also one big old village.
These children inherit the world in a generation or two, when we might be dead. Mine hasn't even done that yet. Think about it.
It's not your job, but people should aspire to more than what falls under their personal sphere, for their sake and their beneficiaries.
Depends how they behave. Most are really no problem at all. Some are a pain.
Same with the adult population, really.

I only dislike seeing young kids playing because there are so many other more beneficial things that 13 year olds should be doing besides sitting on their [snip] playing video games all day. We have so many overweight kids nowadays. Plus these games are designed to be addictive with kids lacking the skills to not be more susceptible.
/old man rant off
Well, someone has to tutor others. Otherwise no new player would be able to run vHoF, vMoL or vRoM or any other veteran content this game has to offer. Those four minutes it takes for you to explain mechanics and give tips/advice in text chat are not that crucial. You just give them a helping hand so that they can progress.

I find this 'don't single out the kids, idiots are idiots, child or adult' argument is odd. I mean, you're not wrong, but...
If age is so irrelevant why don't adults choose to socialise with kids irl?

its because of recent stuff to do with child molesters and what not. my dads best childhood friend was 20 years old and he was ten.there still good friends today.the person I thought was my best friend when I was 15 had to stop talking to me because I was 15 and apparently your not "allowed" to be best mates with your teacher.

Erm, it was kind of a rhetorical question on the basis that I thought the answer was obvious... Evidently not

Fair point. Let me rephrase what I said. Parents today DON'T care enough to raise a decent human being that will have a chance at having a good life. You send your kids into a random kindergarten, where they will be watched over and impressed by random people you don't know anything about. Then, you send your kids to the closest public school, where they will be tutored and taught by bitter people, who don't feel good about themselves and don't shy away from putting it all out on kids in various ways, known as public school teachers. You don't care who your kids hang out with, that they play games that are known to be full of the worst kind of immature adults, who basically don't know what to do with their lives and waste it in video games.
But sure, a random stranger, like me, can suddenly make all of this right, if only I could approach your kid the right way. Is that it?

I think you'll want to re phrase that again I'm 27 With a son of 4 and I very much care about raising him to be a valued and contributing member of our society. He was taught the fundamental values of right and wrong and manners from 1 years old. so to come out and say that Parents today do not care about raising a decent human being is flat out WRONG!
My son indeed goes to a public school but I have a report on his learning activities and what he needs to improve on so I can help him upon his return home. After my son has finished his day I jump on to ESO for some "ME" time. In this time I play ESO to unwind and have social interactions with like minded peers. I don't come on to have to mentor other children I'll throw out the odd piece of advice if it comes to in game mechanics but that is about all.
Again I have no objections to Under 18's playing ESO and as long as their parents monitor their playtime I think ESO could do wonders for their imagination however I personally try to avoid guilds that have under 18's because Its some " ME " time and I'd actually prefer to have more mature social conversations.
@Khenarthi
Can I enquire if you play on PC or console?
