A lot of BiS stuff is dummy bait. Hundings and Juli are and always have been great

Lately I have read about some rage for the great crafted sets....about how these sets are great and very obtainable
All I have to say is I appreciate the dirt out of them. I am a full time worker and a college student and married, life is busy. I do not always have the time to farm BIS or be in a raid guild that requires me to be very active to stay a member. But even in the midst of a busy life I always have these sets that are always good and sometimes BIS. I like the balance in this game, some sets are obtainable with some work like hundings, buy it or craft it. And the more hard core crowd can get their "Glorious serpent set of Awesomeness "

So let me get this straight... "I do not want to have to clear the hardest content in the game for the best possible gear... I should be able to just log in a couple times a week for an hour or so, not have to farm anything, just conjure up a bit of gold and get some of the best possible gear attainable..." Call me crazy, but this is not right in my books. Illogical to say the least... Crafted gear should be used as a stepping stone for doing end game pvp or pve content. Once in said content, you should be upgrading to higher tier gear sets for both pve and pvp. I am not saying that crafted gear should be horrible and useless, but it should be a bit lower of caliber compared to stuff achieved at the end game level.

shouldn't the 'hardest' content be more about mechanics than gear? oh,and skill...and gear means %^&# all in pvp they have 3rd party for that *waves to Dorrino

It already is. Regardless of pve or pvp, you can have every piece of gear in the game but when it comes down to it a trash player will always be trash. Gear is a small aspect of capability... Any solid player can use weak-traited bad gear and still outparse and outplay weaker players, and complete or achieve lots of things that trash players would not be able to with all the gear in the world. It just comes down to the point of logic... Currently a large amount of BIS builds utilize gear that is easily obtainable with little amounts of gold... Rewards for being the best pve raid teams or pvp players are literally just bragging rights... The best possible gear should be only attainable from doing the hardest stuff in the game, pvp and pve wise... Much like vdsa, vma, and asylum.

Given the fact that crafted sets on their own are not bis, as you always have to match them with other gear, I really don't understand the accomplishment thing.
Getting your weapon/gear from vdsa or any other trial, is still an accomplishment, isn't it?
The point is different: you want to be _better_ than all those players that don't give a f*ck about trials, because you spent tot hours farming them and so....you deserve better gear?
You and you only decide how to spend your ingame time.
If you have fun keep doing it, if you don't, just quit doing it and buy/craft your gear.

... says the person wanting to decrease the utility of other peoples' gear so they can get validation for spending hours running and re-running the same content.
No thanks.

Says the person that does not want to do any end game content? I mean seriously whoever tries to argue "grinding" is still a thing, it isn't... You run with 11 other people who can trade you any piece of gear they find, and you can also change the traits of all your gear in 9 days from now when CWC drops...
and if you guys don't realise crafted sets (if they have become bis which I totally doubt) have become that way for any reason other than a cynical ploy from zos you need to play for longer...or wake up

I did "end-game" content in other games, from MUDs to MMOs. You know what? I got bored. I came to the conclusion that it was a hamster wheel that was designed for one purpose alone, to stop players realising that they could spend their time somewhere else. So, I stopped. Is that forever? Probably not. Maybe I'll go back to it someday when the memories have faded enough for everything to feel new again.
If CWC's transmog system really kills all grinding then I will be overjoyed. I mean, after all, if gear really is the reason that people should be running the "hardest content" and you will all get the gear you need in that first run... think of all the players who will be free to explore other activities in-game. Excellent!
See you at an RP session soon?

Let me get this straight... "I think my life, in my moms basement demanding mtn dew and spaghettios when Im hungry, playing video games all day is normal." Call me crazy but this just isnt right in my book. Get a job, get some sun. The vast majority of people playing this game dont have the time of day to work while not at work.
Crafted items are far from BiS. They havent been for a long time. But sets like Hundings and Julianos is definitely better than a lot of others. And a perfectly good alternative if you dont have the time of day, or time in life, to grind out those BiS items. Dont like it? Theres other MMOs out there better suited for you and your elitest viewpoint.
MMORPG are about investing time and increasing in character and having your gear matter both in PvE and PvP - if you don't like this concept then I would adcovate that there are plenty of other genres of games that suits you more.
I for one love that gear still matters in PvP in ESO and hope they don't take the WoW route of homogenizing gear progress to even the play field.
Invested time should result in bigger power (to a cap of course) in some form or another.

I work full time and go to school 3 nights a week, moved out when I was 18 and I am currently 32... Now that we covered that... Crafted items have been a major part of many bis builds for years... TBS had its reign for well over a year, hundings and juli have always been amazing, shacklebreaker is just insanely powerful, just to name a few. The only grind in this game is vma... Everything else you have a ton of other people in your group that can trade you whatever they pickup, and in 9 days you can even change the traits on your gear... "Grinding" is not really an issue anymore. Beat harder things = get better stuffs??? Go to store and buy best stuffs possible??? Crazy!!! How dare I throw such a ridiculous suggestion out... What kind of game gives you better rewards for completing harder stuffs!?!? This is the best MMO currently on the planet, I wouldn't recommend going anywhere (I certainly won't). Elitest viewpoint is beating harder stuff gets better stuff??? Seems pretty normal to me...

MMOs like WoW are dying a slow death while games like LoL or Overwatch have huge success. Mobile games make more money in a month than most MMOs in a year. You know why? Because they are accessible, you don't have to work for months just to get to the point where you can actually play the game. Most people don't want their games to feel like a job or a chore, and MMOs will have to evolve eventually. Besides, ESO fills a special niche for MMOs anyway, it's an MMO for casual players or players that normally only play single player games; trials are basically irrelevant and quests are a big focus. And so is crafting, getting good gear without having to go to the hardcore content is one of the core concepts of this game.
