Would u sacrifice those to have ESO Botfree?

I'm on ESO + and I think an unlimited crafting bag is a bad idea. Keep the crafting bag but put limits to quantities.

But anyway, it still wouldn't stop botters.

The only real way to get rid of them in the current state of the game is to have active GameMasters smashing them with the ban hammer as they see them.

May I ask why you think so?

After first bot war after launch we had ~1,5 years of game without bots or at least visible. Zose doesn't really care about taking actions right now. What could be done tho:
    1. Remove Craftbag - all u have to do now is to pay subscription for endless materials storage. I guess it's worth it for gold sellers. Still profitable for Zose.
    2. Remove level scalling - that made 1-5 zones really botfriendly environment. Bots started appearing again after One Tamriel Patch. Coincidence?
    3. Allow to get endgame material in zones, where bots can't really handle, at least without certain investment in gear or time required for getting higher ranks/CP.

I am aware that all those were sort of a gamechangers but they were also botfriendly.
    1. Because there weren't bots before craftbag? (You get they only care about raw mats, XP's, and gold, right? They're not mass-hoarding style stones for 1g each.)
    2. Because there aren't low level farmable zones and Bots can never be high enough level to handle other zones?
    3. Again, raw mats for refinement. Rawhide can refine just as well as Rubedo can. Also, how long do you really think it takes a 24/7 automated bot to reach CP 160?

None of this is necessary to get rid of the bot problem. There are better, more creative ways to do so that will not detract from legitimate players in the process.

All three? Hell no. Playing without a sub, and I'm using four characters to store all my junk as a result.

Removing level scaling? An argument could be made for that. I'm doing a completionist run on my main, going through all the quests, and I realize ... I don't care. Every quest is the same as the one that came before and the one that comes next. All the enemies have 35k'ish health, all the bosses have 131k'ish health, and there is no change. Ever. Everything is the same. I don't get stronger, I don't find weaker or stronger enemies. It just feels ... odd for an RPG that no matter how much I level, everything remains just as hard. Or easy, to be honest.
With an completionist run you would hate the old scaling, you ended up single hit to kill anything not getting drops as you out leveled the content too much. If you did PvP or dungeons on top it would be worse. You could level faster if you skipped and did stuff some level above you all the time.

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I remember ESO used to be playable, even with my Internet. But ever since they introduced anti cheat engine. Performance gone down hill. There was a video I believe, taking about this. (very old) We had to sacrifice performance for anti cheat engine. But it's not doing any good, it's not stopping the Bots to.

I don't think anti cheat enigine was designed to prevent botting or was it?

Can't really imagine how that would be any more efficient than a part time GM.

Wrong! They bother me. Why that is I explained earlier. It may not be as big of a problem as in Diablo 3 for instance but it'd also be way easier to fix in ESO.

i dont know how to vote for this - plus i dont think this is a democracy - Bots are people like that android that owns facebook.

however, i will throw this out there because i get a kick out of it - on my PSN messaging after the one tamriel i've had sex people contact me - now, i am not even sure how this is possible - i've actually had a conversation that's just hilarious.

basically what i am saying is that i want sex bots in game and not in my PSN dashboard.

They don't bother me at all, and I agree with you - I don't understand why they bother people so much.

I saw the standard bot train running through the harpys in Rivenspire last night. Didn't slow me down on my questing, didn't slow me down on my harvesting, didn't really slow me down at all.

If no one bought gold from the sellers, the problem would disappear on its own. The problem is that there is a market for buying gold in a game with real money. The botters are exploiting a market that already exists and WILL find a way to get the gold to their market. ZoS can ban the accounts and in 10 minutes they will be right back there.

Oh, and if they take away the craft bag, there would be a MASS population collapse.

Aha. So there is a problem! Why do you start your post by saying they don't bother you then?

Of course they could fix it by banning them. They would just have to do it regularly. A botter is not gonna start over fresh every day.

Thing is, Bots are so obvious to anyone who looks at them for 5 seconds. We really just need ZOS to respond to reports (which will encourage people to make more) and slam the BanHammer on them. And not just a 72 hour ban, but a clean the bank out, clean out the inventory, remove the guild listings, disable permanently the account banhammer. Call it a Ban Sledge if you will.

I have been a constant player for 2+ years, everyday. I sent in many reports that were not acted upon and/or effected me with bugs where i lost items for, nothing was evewr compensated.

Never will i waste my time in doing so again. I bought the game, subscribe to support and yet my playtime should be policing the game?, sorry doesn't work like that, not in my mind anyway. Enforcing ToS is ZoS remit, which they don't do.

Additionally i shouldn't have to sacrifice anything to have bots removed, ZoS should be doing this.

The steps ZoS took to stop botting after launch hurt the game. They bought themselves time to fix the issue on PC but then took too much time to do it.

I see it on console now much more than PC. I'm guessing there is a platform reason they are struggling with fixing it.

No, bots in every game to date are a far smaller issue than people want it to seem. It is even less of an issue in this game due to the lack of a central AH and limited posting (30 per guild)

If you really want to know why bots disappeared and then reappeared. Look at game popularity. The number of bots and gold sellers in a game directly relates to the profit available in said game. But again, bot impact is very minimal. Sure, they can sell a few thousand endgame tempers. Two people buy them, users and resellers. Nobody loses because the price barely drops overall.

    1. No, you're talking crazy. That wouldn't make a difference for bots/gold farmers when mats stack anyway... if all they have is 200 inventory slots that are free and ready to use, then it doesn't matter how much of what they pick up, they aren't going to fill their inventory for hours and hours - and even then it's not hard for them to come back, empty the mats into bank/alternate accounts and the cycle continues. Crafting bag has NOTHING to do with this.

2 + 3. Basically you want to go back to the ways of old and have materials Craglorn locked. No thanks and yawn. There's no zone in this game that's going to stop bots.

You know what's REALLY bot friendly? The fact people can gameshare and activate the product infinitely allowing them to continuously make new accounts without having to repurchase the game.

You know what else? Not having any GM's around.

Whew, you strapped your tinfoil hat on for this poll, but glad to see most people see through the sheer insanity of it. Even Sheo himself wouldn't try to offer me a tradeoff like this.

The craft bag is many people's sole reason for subbing, so ZOS won't give up that line of money.

But for someone that doesn't play, you really do complain about a lot of nonsense.

Lol. You seem to know quite a bit about online game history. So I suppose you have played Diablo 3 when it came out?

In this game, yes. It's rather small. Nonetheless, and as stated repeatedly before, one teenage intern at ZOS could do the job alone. Part time. From player pov there is absolutely no good reason not to fix it.

What OP is suggesting is just funny though.
