if you can't/don't want to ban those damn bots ... could you at least destroy the XP from these spot or DO SOMETHING?

I know that you can't say us what you are doing to prevent bots ... I just feel like nothing is done about them -_- ...
Btw i know that i can report them ( even if this is just a waste of time ) then add them in my black list ( even if this don't solve the problem ) due to the 893 email saying me that the Tamriel inhabitants thank me and that i can also black list them ect ect...

I see them all the time as well. I use to report them but no longer do since every time I go back the same BOT train is chugging along.

Funny thing is ZOS could have one...just ONE Game Master go spend one hour a day on NA/EU server and obliterate these BOTS forever.

Permabans for all BOTS would stop this nonsense quickly.

No kidding! I wish we could be Game Masters. I would spend a few hours a day hunting down these BOTs and perma banning them.

This drives me insane! I've seen and reported this same train over and over again. They will perma-ban players for finding other exploits but this one doesn't seem to be an issue....

There are a few blaring reasons as to why this is no different and maybe even more disruptive to the community than gear farming exploits. *please note that I don't agree with either practice*

    Exhibit 1.
Lets just take the famous Maw farmer for example, that trials gear will be bound to his account and for that player's use only. Not to mention they actually need to be present... at their PC spending their time doing so.
    -Vs-
A bot train farming easy to kill monsters, such as Alits, Mudcrabs, or others with multiple accounts following the same path macro. This will drop thousands of unrefined mats (Rubedo Scraps) over the hours of the day to be sold at their local guild trader valued at thousands per stack of 200, or even refined to sell the improvement mats also valued at thousands per dreugh wax.

Gold Farming, anyone? Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a violation of the Terms of Service. The in game Gold these bots collect can then be sold for real world money to players who want large quantities of Gold without having to earn it. Players that buy Gold usually use it to buy end game gear and other such items.

    Exhibit 2.
The XP gain for each active bot in the train is substantial. So it would be totally doable for each bot to level a character from start to finish in a day. While every other person had to actually play the game and work to level from 0-50. If we had to put in the time, everyone should.

Q: Why does ZOS allow this?
A: Because each bot is a paid subscription to hold the vast quantities of materials they "earn" in their bottomless craft bag! So cheating is okay so long as you pay!

ZOS, please fix this issue and adhere to the Terms of Service you created.

Rant over, thanks for letting me vent.

It is hilarious to me that the onus falls on us to report the bots. ZOS either needs to divert people to logging in as gamemasters on all platforms and manually banning them or hire more personal to do this. Why should I have to waste my time going and reporting 15 bots?(which on console is a hassle) ZOS needs to start policing their own game it's disgusting.

There are close to 20 bots running at Karthdar on PC-NA tonight. Quite the impressive sight. Looks like a couple people out reporting them, too. Either that or they are just watching.

The only thing that seems to make sense to me is that ZOS is afraid of the botters. With all the lag on their servers it seems like they are already just barely holding together with a normal peak load. When there's an event or in PvP sometimes it's better to just wait before logging in or you'll just be playing with load screen. I guess it wouldn't take much for an attack to put them completely offline.

When I'm in the mood and otherwise bored I take my best grinder (usually my stamsorc) find one of their spots, watch them do a circuit and then run a few laps just ahead of them killing everything. I know, it's a small contribution but every little bit helps.

BTW his name is Ogopogo The Valiant, don't accidentally report me please :)

Well, it would be obvious that you weren't a bot by the way you move around and fight, so I think you are safe.

I bring up the Bot Scanner and reporting tool I have in my signature as a convenient way to report entire bot trains within a minute or two.

One day I'll go in and fix the ticket window scrolling lol.

With Bot Scanner out there that allows people to collect names of everyone who runs by, I would be careful. My advise is to not play with the bots. It is too easy to get included in a scan and reported. I don't use Bot Scanner, but know how it works. It makes it easy to report bots, but is also makes it easy to accidentally report someone who is running by playing with the bots.

Edit: I want to add that when there are 3 or 5 bots, it is pretty easy to see when someone is playing with them. When there are 20 of them running by, not so much. A typical bot train would have to be observed two or three times for Bot Scanner to even get a full list of them, just because they are so closely packed.

South east Alik'r has a big bot chain as well, near the Thief Mundus Stone. I reported one of them, mentioned it was part of a chain of bots, but didn't see the point in trying to report every single one of them. ZOS seem very slow to deal with bot problems at all. Why have GMs become a thing of the past in MMOs?

    You are very positive !

Both thing ( gold selling and account selling ) start with a " bot " ... this bot farm xp and rawmats , and they sell trash to the merchand near them ( crown store one or the one in the city near them), they also refine the rawmats to get pile of Dreugh wax which they sell in guild store or in chat for cheap price to get gold faster.
THEN they sell the gold on the net and the account , or both in same transaction.

We can't stop Goldselling, it's the ZOS job to do this , but we can report bot ... so we can stop the source of the problem ... and NVM for those people who buy gold and get nothing ,nobody care for them.

They like to farm the Harpies at Tears of the Dishonored. I used to report them there, on PC NA.

@Nestor thinks that making one report and mentioning that there are a lot of bots there works. I have done that, and I have done the "report them all and let ZOS sort it out", too. I really don't know if there is a difference. If ZOS is looking for "number of reports" then it makes sense to report them all, and so that is what I prefer to do. I guess it depends on whether they go by number of reports for an area or number of reports for an account. Until @ZOS_GinaBruno or @ZOS_JessicaFolsom provide clarification, I will report them all, when I do report a location. I'd much rather report one of them and include a "plus X others not reported" and have it work.
