Should the Sword and Board passive increase both weapon and spell damage?
In Pvp, Some would agree that 1H/S Stam builds are much more effective at balancing defense and offense so that they are effective at both. I think adding Spell damage buff to this passive would help balance. Or just remove the weapon damage buff (I would lean against this as many will cry "why more nerfs"... lol).

Except it shouldn't, because holding a physical damage weapon in your hand shouldn't suddenly make non physical damage stronger.Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

Following the same logic as duel wield swords, it should. And the purpose of this proposal is mainly to balance 1H/S Stam builds and 1H/S mag build in PvP. I think due to the lack of build variations with staves and effectiveness, some mag builds must use 1H/S (mainly, speaking to magDK). It is really hard to find balance for offense and defense, currently, for magDK in PvP, especially, in solo, open-world PvP.
I think this would be a good change because it shouldn't affect PvE much. Where is does afffect PvE may be the effectiveness on mag tanks being able to heal themselves. Which with the consistent nerfs to PvE tanking, it would be nice buff for them.2 -

Doesn't actually say that it only increases the 1H+S skills, it says it increases your weapon damage if you have one equipped. So if it buffed spell damage too it could work on class skills or other and buff them too.
But since many people seem to not like 1H+S magicka users I don't think many will say yes too it. Personally have no preference.0 -

Well I knew that, just I didn't express myself clearly. I meant the 1H+S skills are physical so it would make no sense to provide buffs for magicka as design feature. I'm also pretty sure twin blade and blunt was unintended but they just left it there since changing it would have pissed up people

The skill tree is designed/balanced around a mitigation heavy melee-range playstyle. Buffing damage for ranged magicka abilities has no place in the tree UNLESS the spell dmg buff only applied to melee-range abilities; i.e. mDK whips & mplar sweeps.0 -

✭✭✭YesZOS tries to make skills/buffs/debuffs have alignment with each other. If using DW buffs your physical and spell damage- then using SnB should buff your physical and spell damage as well.
The reason behind this? Magicka tanks use magicka-based abilities to heal. Why shouldn't they benefit from a boost in spell damage alongside their stamina tank brethren?Want to enjoy the game more? Try both PvP (crybabies) and PvE (carebears). You'll get a better perspective on everyone's opinion.
