I am OK with most things. I can understand why they introduce changes; almost every time it’s to do with having players using all the skills available to them, and not just a few of them. Whether this is a result of some things vastly over-performing in the first place, or whether they go about it in the right way is a different matter, but I understand the reasoning behind it. And I appreciate it when player feedback is taken into account regarding these changes. I think the crown crate system is exploitative (I participate in it, but I do it in full knowledge of what I’m getting, or not getting, into in this case), so I wish they came up with a different way to make money that left customers more satisfied with their experience. Also, I personally find the prices for limited time mounts and motifs in the crown store expensive. Having said all that, I very much appreciate them doing free crate events – and events in general. They are fun and bring some variation to day-to-day gaming. I don’t mind the maintenance times, and performance is fine given the size of this game, but one thing I’d wish for is less lag in Cyrodiil. In instances where a lot of players are gathered together I lose sound completely for a couple of minutes, and sometimes I get never-ending loading screens. A final thing has to do with personal story progression: I completed silver and gold before 1T was introduced, but now with new players starting in Vvardenfell, I was wondering if the story is confusing to them regarding what to do next. It seemed more linear in a way before when people started in a given alliance and could only go elsewhere after finishing that content, so I don’t know if story progression is not as clear cut to new players now. I don’t know what ZOS could do about that, but I wanted to give my 2 cents on it.

    Currently? Good.

There is a trick to this, though. Never expect more than you are getting, and always have something else to do in the game for when they come along and *** on you.

ZOS has done countless things to "ruin" the game for me over the years, and I simply stop seriously playing the parts that they have "ruined". I move on and do something else. Eventually, I will run out of places in the game to hide from them, but there will be some other game to play, and I will hide there.

The state of the game as a whole, from a MMO gameplay perspective is above average IMO. Buffs, nerf calls, lag, performance issues. Much of the community would make it seem like these are special to ESO. Even long running games like EQ and WoW have issues still to this day. If anyone tells you that they don't, they are either uninformed, or straight up lying.

There's loads of PVE content from the moment you create your character. The zones are well done (though I wish they all felt as real and fleshed out as the DLC zones) and the locations are varied. There are however most certainly things that need attention.
    • Guild Management- The guild system in this game is extremely poor. I have played games that included guild creation as a patch in afterthought, that was executed better than this. Give us options. If my guild wants ranks to be character bound and not account, let us! Allow us to set a withdrawl limit from banks! Make it not such a pain in the ass to invite players on PS4!
    • There is a THIRD community out there- ROLE PLAYERS! The megaserver will never change (slaps face), but give us RP'ers some QOL damn it! Allow us to FILTER specific chat channels, none of this 'all or nothing' that we have now. Let tabards be worn over costumes! Let us explore Cyrodiil without entering PVP.

Those are just a few things. In the coming days I'm going to post a long drawn out post on how they need to listen to the RP community, system wide. I could be on FF right now which has dedicated people listening to RP wants and interests, who patch things in out of nowhere on the weekly, yet I'm paying crowns to play and RP in this broken "no mans RP" game?

Aside from that, as first mentioned, it's decent. If it wasn't for my HUGE love of ES lore, and the fact that the Wayfarers of Tamriel are leading the charge with RP on PS4 right now, I'd be somewhere else.

Only been playing a month, but I’m really enjoying the game. I did a steam review listing the specifics, but there was a lot more positives than negatives. I really like the freedom I feel when playing. There are so many options, and yet I usually find myself wondering around aimlessly, farming, fishing, and taking in the sights. The races and classes are super interesting and deeply embedded within the phenomenal stories. I think I might actually be becoming a little obsessed tbh.

Not happy with the game or its direction. I have invested too much time and money to quit, however. Both have diminished and went to other games, I used to play ESO exclusively. Also my guild is a huge part why I stay, they make the game fun. If all of them would play other game together with me then I most likely would quit ESO. If anyone from ZOS read that, I'd say put huge emphasis on guild and social activities in the game, support it. ESO's guild system is very lackluster compared to other games where guildies have guild quests, attendance guild rewards, world bosses that needs like 30 people to kill, guild bases that can be built and improved with guild members making contributions and more guild activities in PVP, arenas, etc. Your masterfully quartely DLC will last people 6 hours then bye. A strong guild system can give members, officers and guild masters unlimited amount of things to do with minimal maintenance from ZOS. As a guild leader I do what I can to pump events from horse races, tavern nights, goofy Cyrodiil runs, RPs, but at the end of the day it's like getting water from stone. Roster, bank and so many other functionalities must be explored deeper. A clever guild system, ZOS. You make that effort once and buys you many years of slack.

Yeah... no real reason to keep doing PvE and no reward for skill-ful PvP either.
One is tank and spank, the other is a 40-50 man zerg, because having more population is always a garanteed win anyway. You can be as skilled as a group you can possible be, but the moment you dont have at least 25% of the enemies zerg's size.... youre basically ***.

My current state of the game is BAD.
I've had to leave to other games to enjoy PVP because of the lack of attention here . I log in occasionally to keep my crafting emails current and maintain the account but have little interest in regrinding gear or running old Dungeoms for more gear anymore . I would say that is a bad position . Nothing in the next patch seems to address my concerns with the perma blocking tanks in PVP or intrusive Addons and that is ZOS's choice of course . So I will PVP in a different game and pay attention to changes in the future . One day a week seems like enough eso for me until I see a reason for me to be more active .

In general, the game concept is well-executed. As a primarily solo PvE player, or one who plays with just a few friends or family members, the MMO world is an active and interesting place. There are plenty of options for group-focused and solo play. Having it based on years' worth of Elder Scrolls lore gives the game a depth that would be hard to do with a new-from-the-ground-up sword-and-sorcery MMO.

I know some things like Crown Crates annoy some players; I can just ignore them. I have an ESO Plus membership, which generates enough "free" crowns to save each month to get a mount, costume, or housing/furnishings once in a while. Having choices with paid content is good. The craft bag benefit for ESO Plus is really useful, even if I'm not a heavy crafter. My wife is, and I can collect things in the craft bag and trade/send them to her, and I don't get loaded down with too much loot too fast while playing.

The bad? It's the universal complaints -- lag/instability and the relentless nerf-onslaught. The lag can't be 100% blamed on players' computers and internet connections. Something is not right with the servers and/or the game code that communicates with them. And the nerfing is just tiresome. I understand the point in encouraging players to try different build variations and play strategies, but there's a difference between encouraging and near-nonstop beating them with a nerf-hammer. The new meta is confusion and frustration with constant reactive build changes.

Yeah, there's tons to do, a lot of different content, player housing, furniture crafting, Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, Orsinium, Vvardenfell, countless dungeons, dyes titles and all kinds of things to unlock. Love the trader system and the game economy. The game's aesthetic is still one of my favorites. It's also one of the few MMOs where you can experience and have nice things without doing PVP or Raiding, which are not things I enjoy. The CP system is one of my favorite systems. The game has grown and evolved in a positive trend since its themeparkian launch in 2014. It's now a bonafide sandpark, and that's right up my alley.

Since you asked, and hopefully ZOS will read some of what people are writing and look for some common claims, I'll actually respond.

The leveling system is still flawed. I'm not sure why they start characters at level 1 and require them to level up to level 50 before achieving champion status. Those levels are very wasteful and frustrating to veteran players, and for new players I don't see it adding anything to their experience. They should phase out levels completely and have new players start at CP 1. All gear should fit all players, no more VR level on gear. They are afraid to scrap all their work on the tiered gear system, but they need to realize it is so fundamentally different than their original concept that it is pointless.

Player vs Player combat needs a balance.
AoE needs to be scaled back. I love that they made some of the wardens heals directional but they need to follow through in doing that with the Templar, then rework some of the existing heal and damage skills, reducing point blank AoE skill strength by reducing their radius, making them directional, and drastically increasing those cost of those that aren't nerfed.
They really need to scale back on CC immunity, the duration needs a nerf. It shouldn't be so easy to so completely ignore a huge part of pvp. Perhaps a brief immunity followed by free breakouts for the duration.
Sneaking needs a nerf, I really wish they would have made this a genuine sneak skill by concealing name tags and causing the player to become transparent and not actually vanish.
Nightblade cloaking, damage shields, heals, purge, and dodges all need to have multiplicative costs. Each time you press the button without letting it cool down would cause the ability to cost more, to the point that spamming it several times would drain most players completely.
Siege needs to be overhauled. Siege weapon damage should be nerfed against walls and other seige, increased against players, and the cost of siege weapons drastically increased. The intent would be to slow down the rate in which keeps are flipped. Players would place less siege weapons and damage keeps slower. Factions would defend their territory rather than rushing to retake the keep which just becomes a game of who can flip keeps faster.

I realize that some of these ideas wont be popular, but that is my input. Overall PvP needs to slow down. It is just a cluster of ability spam and speeding through keep flipping.

Bugs, lag, communication with playerbase. I'm not going to write a novel, but this all needs work... I know they have some comm via the cast they they do, but it isn't enough. They aren't engaging their playerbase enough.

    Mixed but getting worse.

Stamina regen needs an accross-the-board increase and an increase to base return from Heavy Attacks. Even with CP passives, the amount of stamina returned is too low for the risk you put yourself in by being unable to block, dodge-roll, use Vigor, etc.

Drop rates also need an across-the-board look at, preferably by a person who actually posses a sense of basic ethics and respects the players and their valuable time. When there are Motif pages going for 300K, ZOS ought to consider this a sign they made a mistake.

The writing and worldbuilding still keeps me playing, but if they can't exercise a "don't be a Richard" philosophy when it comes to gameplay, there's only so long the atmosphere can keep me.

The game generally runs pretty well and I don't have the crashing/launcher/server/{insert complained about problem here} that most people on the forums mention frequently. Crown store could be updated with more new items that aren't behind the crates though and performance in trials that run longer than 1-2 hours needs to be improved. Bit hard when you have to deal with 15-20FPS because the run is taking a while because of teaching people

I still love the game and have a lot of things I still want to accomplish in it, even after 3+ years, but it's been a lot harder to get people to do anything anymore. It seems like a lot of people have either left or they just open the game and AFK/alt-tab all night while parked in a bank. I miss how busy everyone used to be. Friday nights used to be insanely busy, and I loved it. Now weekends are barely busier than the rest of the week. Just feels less like an MMO when half of the online players are AFK or trolling zone chat 90% of the time.

The lore and the artwork is stunning.

The lack of ability diversity over the years has stagnated combat for me--well that and AOE caps.

I remember feeling so anxious for this game to come out and the hype for the first year of the game being live was wonderous, but then the crown store came into the picture and then the crown crates and the hope started to dwindle. Well the hope for a game that had so much opportunity and potential at launch. Anyone else remember how exciting Quake Con 2014 was?

The game hit a huge impediment imho when the direction shifted to gimmicky micro-transactions rather than quality game improvements and combat enhancements.
