https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVQjLWGtBHglast year- they introduced crown crates- and that ended it for alot of players. not that in itself- but the massive profits they got form going away from a subsciption based business model to a store based business model, shifted their priorities greatly. the big profits they got- simpy changed their focus. past couple of years their cycle has been- and will be each quarter:
- Big zone for questing such as morrowind, wrothgar, etc.
- a QOL update, such as housing, one T.
- dungeon DLC, hist, horns, etc.
- a trial dlc with a trial and a coiuple dungeons.
-
in the past- there would be a constant- player pvp and balaance updates as well as addressing perforance. look at the patch notes from the forum site to a couple years ago- CONSTANT tweaks and balance imporvments, performance adjustments, they listened and cared- and did things about it. when was the last time anyone saw a gamemaster in game? they dont even play their own game anymore. sure the new dungeons are cool- but lets be honest, theyre lazy. this content isnt fresh- theyre re-using old assets and dressing them up with new skins, over and over. its what a gaming company does when they want to stretch their ingredients with limited resources.
theyre stil doing that- thats fine- but its resources are no longer focused on long term health of the game- but short term money making such as crown store. a business can onluy devote so many resources to so many issues. and having all their money invested in graphic designers instead of coders - has clearly paid off for them in their minds financially- but it clear this is a short term approach- andthe long term health of hte game is suffering , as evidenced by al the top streamers leaving, a year ago - 1000 or so viewers would be watcing eso at once- now it hits maybe 350 at peak hours. BDO hits like 3000.
in short - people are fed up with a game that has been out for 4 years performaing like a beta test. i play lots of other games- and they all have servers across the globe oceania, SEA, north europe, etc, etc that give a the enitre world good perfomance. obviously someone upstairs said: hey guys- we re not going for long term here- lets keep pumping out costumes and motifs and cash out while we can. its like a top restaurant selling pizza instead of going for 3 stars.
people always throw out-" theyre in it to make money man- its a business". sure - but there are different way s to make money. make it with a commerical blockbuster- or make a franchise. if your good- you can do both. this approach of crown crate crap?
sure it ll make them cash in the short term - good-o !
but a year ago- i felt this game could have been a game that lasted 10 years like WOW, and surpass it perhaps. it even had the potential to form an E-league with battlegrounds and be an E-sport. i know alot of players excited at where it was going. but since BG has come out- we stil dont have performance in those modes, a decent rating system, nor the option to even have custom tournaments, ranked games, casual games, and custom matches. we re not asking for the world with those things- those are features that shold and could have been knocked out in the time it takes to make a bloody buoyant armiger motif.
it could have been a game that inspired movies, adn a real global following, it had all the ingredients- lore, history, fan following, and a great original base game.
I havent even addressed the gaming and class balance issues. lets not go there. but i think few of us have confidence in the game ever being close to being as balanced in a game with 5 classes- when most games have like 30.
but theyve neglected the end game user, raised the floor and lowered the ceiling with every patch, bit by bit and STILL not addressed the *** poir performance and stability of the game. and no ZOS- adding more CP to our cap isnt looking after end gamers. when you add more CP, you make hte game easier- and then have to nerf skills - its a constant juggling act that is inherently flawed in its logic. they keep adding CP, and then wonder why they cant find the centre.
MMOS arent like normal games- people get right into them- form friendships, and communities, live thru them for many . for those of use that have put hours, weeks, months and years into this game- its truly dissappointing and sad.

Hello guys,
in the last weeks and months probably most of you guys have noticed that more and more people have left TESO.
Let me give you a quick overview about my „TESO-Backgrounds“:
I have been playing this game for 2,5 years. Within this time I’ve done almost everything in this game. PVE (progress raiding, semi-progress, casual), PVP (solo, progress and casual). I’ve been leading weekly raids for almost 1 year and i am currently leading a group through vHoF.
The biggest problem of TESO is: performance. Some months ago I’ve upgraded my old system (now i7 7700k, system + client on the same SSD, good internet connection, AMD RX 580) and the funny thing is: I’ve almost noticed no improvements.
Our biggest problem in vHoF for example aren’t the boss-mechanics – it’s the performance. Almost everytime at the Factotum (2nd boss) our tank gets high-ping-spikes during the split mechanic and it doesn’t matter who’s tanking. Or for example as soon as you reach the big room at the 4th boss EVERYONE in the raid has hardcore fps-drops down to 10 FPS and lower. We are raiding with completely different systems (CPU’s, Ram’s, graphic devices, router), different internet providers, different addons, PC’s optimized for gaming (no background software running)…. I also tried raiding without any addons, not only deactived – I also uninstalled all addons and their saved variables. The performance is still really bad, as soon as you’re doing group-content with more than 4 people – so PVE-Raids and PVP… The support is not really helpful: „Addons…. Ports.. new drivers…“ Do you guys know that „check your hardware“ „check your addons“ „ did you enable your ports“ are running gags nowadays?? And it doesn’t seems like there will be working performance-improvements in the future. During my time as raidlead I’ve lost so many good players because of those fps-drops and high-ping-spikes, I‘ve stopped counting them.
There are so many issues existing for such a long time:
Just the most common in
PVP:
- lags everywhere
- long loading screens in cyrodiil
- loading screens while using any charging abilities (just check out Feng Rushs gameplay videos and you’ll see how every player, getting those loading screens, reacts)
- no crosshairs while using siege-weapons
PVE:
- fps-drops in always the same areas
- micro lags, so light attacks won’t be registered
- vHRC left boss ( with the dogs/hounds) doesn’t respawn
- vSO portals at Manticore doesn’t show up/aren’t visible
Every PVE raid, you have to include almost half an hour just to get every client running and I am doing at least 1 break every 1,5h so people can restart their computer or clients, because the eso performance got so bad that it’s impossible to play. In PVP raids there is at least 1 person everytime who gets 4-5 long loading screens in a row until he/she just leaves the group „sorry guys, this is senseless and just a waste of time“.
People more and more get the feeling that you have „finished“ with improving the game and just create new „RP-content“ to make more money.
I mean, okay – I think it was like 5 months ago Matt Firor said TESO is not an MMORPG anymore. But to be honest: everyone I know playing ESO was laughing about this phrase. Did he ever play the game? Did he ever try to get a vMA weapon he required? Not only the whole endgame content is mmo-like (grinding hours and hours to get the right item, minimum-DPS to clear content, etc.). It’s like you’re buying a car and 2 years later you name it „bicycle“ – but it’s still a car.
Even most oft the popular streamers are slowly done with TESO.
„I am finding the game more and more stale, more and more pory run, and I just don’t really qualify giving the company my support, my money and my time“ (Blobs - Livestream 28.09.)

Or the podcast of Ruben (@DaggerfallTradeMasters) , @Alcast , Kodi and @Hexyshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVQjLWGtBHg
I really recommend to take a look at those videos.
Yes, these are only some players, but their meaning is 100% representative for a lot of other players. To be honest: after you invited all those content creators to check out Morrowind, I was so happy. Because it seemed like you’re REALLY interested in improving the game together with the community. But now, 5 months later.. yeah.. I don’t know what to say. This game has such a high potential and it really hurts to see whats happening every patch.
Please, please, please take your time and LISTEN TO CONTENTCREATORS and consult their improvement suggestions!!
You can create the most beautiful game ever – if it runs like crap, nobody will be able to enjoy it.
I mean only those guys just running around, doing quests and playing ESO as a RP game, will never complain about those things. And I am pretty sure they also raise a big profit. Everybody knows:
no money -> no game.
But the way you’re currently acting will make sure that you’ll lose a lot of MMORPG players anytime soon.
You should think about your priorities. Instead of releasing one DLC after another, take your time to make a BIG PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT PATCH for ESO.
Thanks for reading. Please try to spread this thread, so Zenimax gets a better imagination what's important for many players!

Lad, you really dont see it yet? Zenimax is pulling the same *** the optimization disaster, TERA, is doing. Only with a few differences, im sure you can guess what they are.
They probably making fallout online and not giving a damn anyway.

Yeah, thats right. The amount of people playing is higher than at the beginning of ESO ( comparison of 2014/2015 and now) - which is pretty normal, because it was getting more and more known. But i started my thread with "in the last weeks and months" - and if you compare the last 1/2 - 3/4 year, you'll see that ESO has lost a lot of players. And that are only the login-datas registered by steam. This doesn't implement the people playing without their TESO-account connected to steam. As far as i know from friends playing on consoles, they also got seriously performance issues.
How about you check guild rosters than.
