I've opened several thousand chests (yes thousand) with the Treasure Hunter cp passive and found a lot of pages on PC/NA. Currently all I have left to learn is Buoyant Armiger boots and I'm done with the motif. and I have two extra pages.

The Buoyant Armiger motif drop rate is still abysmal and appalling; with the low drop rate, any master writ calling for that style should be at least 250 writs per...

So the chance should be increased by any of the chapter achievements, or just those related to the main quest? I've completed all except HoF, the motifs, fishing, and some quest counter related (from ashlanders). Yet my 2 pages thus far dropped before I got most of those achievements, one from a simple chest in Nchuleftingth, the others from an advanced chest somewhere under a bridge close to Vos. I won't bother farming the motif on purpose or buying it, since I consider the former to be a waste of time and the latter to be a waste of money, but I was just curious.

I have a much better idea, increase the drop rate of all motifs. New players coming into this game and new crafters are so far below the power curve it is disheartening. I myself and so far behind i just dont want to do it. i would love to play ESO daily content if i new i was getting a rewardfor doing Wrothgar, Dark Brotherhood, Mage Guild, Fighters Guild, Vvardefell, Undaunted, Thieves Guild, and Craglorn dailies. Dont forget faction based and dungeon related motifs.

Yeah I really don't know how I got so lucky with those and I still haven't gotten a MW at all since homestead launch over 100 vouchers, or that blasted DBH heart from the bequeather for the past 4 months.

I found six so far, opening about as many chests as you. Maybe less. HOWEVER. That doesn't mean that you are lying or that your experience is outside the norm. This is, in fact, expected behavior for people to fall all over the distribution curve when the drop chance is so astronomically low. This motif needs a buff to its drop chance, and fast. It should be more like the Ra Gada motif (after you've done the Vivec quests, that is).

Except that every three months we get more motifs to chase, either to learn or sell.

I agree that there should be rare things, but not things where the rng is so broken that it's literally unattainable by people who put the work in. (I say as a plan & motif completionist who has had zero BA drops, despite opening at least a thousand chests.)

This one post, says it all about the diabolical drop rate. over 1k chests and not ONE motif, its disgraceful.

Get 2 motif on Vhof chest.

get 1 motif in 2 chests ( arround 1min farm)
get 1 other matif in arround 8 min farm

all other motif take me 1H30/2H to loot , 1 per day.

Yeah I didn't get all mine on the 1st chest every time, some days I go 9 hours without finding one and over 1,000 chests as well

I always completely loot chests. I have even destroyed treasure maps in my inventory if there is one in a chest.

Motif drop rates (deleted) . In 3 years of obsessive looting in this game, I still don't have Imperial and can't finish Dwemer and I pick up everything because I am subbed.

Customer service verified that it is still broken, but not for everyone. You must be one of the lucky ones.

After reading this I did a few loops about 25 chest 2 master chest and nothing. Was very boring I just can't see myself doing this. I'll wait for crown store or the anniversary event that drops rare motif pages when handing in daily quest.

I don't think any motif is worth more then 15k no matter how rare they are. 400k for something you can't really use is just stupid high.

I thought the chests simply despawned after a certain amount of time once opened anyway? So it shouldn't really impact any chest farming except giving the false promise of loot, which is certainly annoying for sure, but not enough to fuel hatred! :P

Apparantly its 30 minutes, ( or so i was once told or read somewhere ) but i have never actually tested it as i see no reason and would probaby fall asleep whilst waiting. I was also told that (again not verified) that each chest (or node incidently) has a possible four spawn points and once it is emptied and despawns at one point it will instantly respawn at any of the other three spawn points it is associated with... not verified or proven by myself so could just be heresay but it actually makes sense to have 4 possible locations rather than the whole zone as its a lot less server load to look for three places rather than X amount and if a location already has a chest on it then that would mean another server query, even more if the following spawn points had chests on them and to pull in all spawn locations and query for an empty one would again be too much un-needed load.

So yeah, if those chests do indeed respawn instantly then it benefits everyone who is farming them, otherwise there is one out of the loop for thirty minutes, imagine if each zone had 20-30 chests half emptied then it does become an issue.
