The design is fantastic. A truly unique zone that doesn't look familiar to any other zone. I really like the sky during the daytime, almost like a dolmen following you around where ever you go and the ponds that looked to be filled with oil slicks. That being said I'm disappointed that ZOS wasted one of their better designs on yet another very small zone. They should have made Clockwork City at least as large as Morrowind.

I dunno about beautiful, the zone feels depressing dirty and grey and leaves me wanting a valium and a bath. As far as my usual interests in a DLC.. the crafted sets all have a hybrid feel. One might be decent for tanks but... eh not feeling so great about those additions on this one. The dropped sets are proc oriented as usual so not much new there either besides the penetration on the 3 or 4 set bonus of the stam set was somewhat interesting to me.

As far as the zone size, it doesn't feel huge.. I ran from one side to the other exploring looking for the crafting stations and wayshrines, I would have to guess its about the size of Gold Coast maybe just slightly bigger. Dipped into a delve or two to take a peek and did one quest. Cant speak much for the main story as I didn't really pick it up past getting into the city gates.

Fought one of the world bosses called "The Imperfect" with a random person who followed me into its chambers, and it wasn't exceedingly difficult. We wiped once or twice to the adds when they came out and exploded on us but after that we took it down rather easy with just the two of us.

The price will determine whether I get this one or not, and so far I have purchased every DLC. If its up there with the cost of Orsinium, I will just sub for a month as said before because I can't see myself constantly going back to it long term. There really isn't anything there that speaks to me on this one and I am a huge fan of the dwemer lore.

You're in luck. Clockwork city isn't dwemer.

If it comes at 2000 crowns price just like comparable DLC Thieves Guild, than it's awesome. Otherwise: Meh.

This one is gonna be free with your sub.

Considering the game is unplayable without subbing, why not sub?

I love the zone, I love the story. I agree that Morrowind main quest was a bit of a letdown but this one is really, really cool. Or maybe it's just the nostalgia and fanboy talking in me.

    Only three letters: Meh...

Totally agree. No more mini dlc's, at least as big as wrothgar please. This one just seems like another DB/ thieves guild size spec on the map.
Who bets all wrothgar sized dlc's i. The future will be chapters now?

I hope this dlc will be big but I am afraid that all Wrothgar sized dlc's will be chapters

I have played a bit of the main quest and ran around a bit. Yes it is a smaller zone, but it is freaking beautiful. This is going to sound weird, but the new trunks have a sound to them when they open up, and I love it. The quest so far has been pretty good, I want to know where the story goes. That hasn't happened since Orsinium. I mean Morrowind was good and all, but I wasn't overly attached to that story line or any of the characters. I can see myself spending a lot of time here, pretty sure Rawl being my hub is about to be a thing of the past.

Pretty much this! I didn't get attached to the NPCs in the main story very much in Morrowind, and that's a big factor for me in terms of enjoying a zone. The main story was interesting, and don't get me wrong I did like some of the characters, but there were none that strongly appealed to me.

I've done the first couple of quests in Clockwork, and am already having a blast because I adore several of the characters I'm working with! I'm really excited to see where this goes with them, and for that reason so far I think it's better than Morrowind. Whether it'll beat Orsinium or not will have to wait until I've done everything :).

another unecessary pve zone, no more difficult than glenumbra sadly

if super difficult PVE zones where popular Craiglorn wouldn't have been a colossal failure

There is a considerable gap between Glenumbra and super difficult. Bumping DLC difficulty up to around the same as public dungeons would be awesome. With my main, a stamblade, I didn't even come close to dying once doing the quests in Morrowind. Having a couple of quest bosses that you're unlikely to beat on the first try wouldn't be the end of the world. It would just make it more memorable.

The main questline is really short, took me about 5 hours from intro to end even on my healer (in full on trial healing specs). The scenery is more like Hew's Bane with dwemer accents thrown in, than a world make of metal and cogs, but it doesnt look bad.

There wasn't really enough time spent on the Evergloam in my opinion, but I'm also a die hard daedric prince fan. I will go ahead and let everyone know that you 100% should speak with quest NPCs after major events, even if there's no prompt to, because there is some interesting stuff to be learned from some of them.

There's a ton of dailies I haven't really gotten around to doing, but one type of daily made my day and I will avoid speaking of it because spoilers of court

I have only just started and I have been very impressed.
Again it really does depend what you like in this game.

I found it very beautiful and immersive.

I am personally a big fan of hybrid Fantasy/Sci Fi settings like this one.

You know the Transmute system is for aesthetics, not set bonuses. Its so we can have gear look like different styles.

    @ArchMikem

Not at all. The new system has nothing to do with aesthetics. It is specifically for changing the trait on armor and weapons as the person you quoted seems to understand very well.

It will do nothing to the appearance of any armor or weapon.

Oh yeah, the bards bahahaha. I was on my way on a quest and passed one, thought wait what?? Screeched to a halt, went back and stood there listening for a minute. I have NEVER done that before haha.

This is kind of a first for me, but the audio in this DLC is freaking great. Like everything is making me sqwee. And I don't normally have that sort of a reaction to the audio portion. I really love it visually too, and of course am having a blast with the questing. I'm thinking new favorite DLC right now. Everyone involved in creating it should get hugs and cookies.

Also, I've found a couple of things that I am not sure if there is a quest for yet, didn't see achievements for them either, but will be double checking later.

The main story for this DLC is better than the Morrowind chapter main quest line in my opinion. The writing in general for the quests of this is update is pretty strong. That, combined with a lot of other things makes this my favorite update of the year. For me personally? Well done ZOS.

Zone: A bit small but well done, a bit dull in colours and variations, but that should be expected from a landscape fully made out of brass I guess.. I don't like steampunk, but if you do I'm sure it's great.
Story: Haven't seen much of it jet, but seems over all well done. Some old characters come back, wich makes it somewhat more relatable.
Quests: The usual thing, nothing too amazing but over all good.
Rewards: Interesting Sets/Weapons, cool Titles, a Skin, a Polymorph. I guess there is enough and it's placed fairly in my opinion.
Bosses: Wordbosses are a joke as always, cool design though. Haven't finished the raid jet, but the bosses don't look too great, pretty small and unrecognisable.

I see a few people said they liked the city/zone. I tried to find some videos from PTS but didn't succeed to find anything where I could get the feel of how the city is planned.

Can anyone tell me how is the layout situation? Distances between Crafting/bank/wayshrine/traders, any doors between them? I wonder how popular would those traders be, so far all DLCs weren't all that great in that regard, but vivec is really nice. Will CC be better than Vivec?

they're all contained in a single building, kind of like banks in most vanilla cities. No loading screens or long walks between them, but there's the brief door FTB between them and the wayshrine. Compared to Vivec, very slightly less convenient in exchange for having the transmute station right there.

it's a yes for me :) , except if they don't add the way to take and turn in our writ in clockwork city , i want to live their ! it's not even in live that it's my favorite DLC ( all station are in one batiment, there is a " merchant " in the same batiment and the guild merchant are just near this batiment , the bank is in an other batiment ( less distance between these 2 batiments than between the woodworking station and the bank in rawl'ka.)
