I thought we had loyalty rewards for subbing. The crafting bag and double bank space are pretty sweet. Hate to give that up for crap costumes and other junk.

The original loyalty items were a reward for subscribing, and a subtle punishment for those who lacked faith in the game and contibuted to it being B2P.

Today, they would not give anything for subscribing to ESO Plus.

However, I can see them giving special rewards for the really special customers. Those who support the Crown Crates. Maybe at the 1000 Crate tier. I mean, if you spend $2400 on Crown Crates, you definitely deserve to have some special pet following you.

I've been subscriber since day one. The increase in bank space, house space and craft bag is worth it. I liked the free costumes and pets, but I don't use them that much.

I think they would make more $ if they listed the old rewards in the store, but on the other hand i really hate how Swtors going about it as well making every loyalty reward just handed out like nothing now, really don't want that happening here I like how I don't have the super rare leopard mount from the 12 month but also glad that I got my monkey.

    Oh yeah why not.

I'd like to have a reward for being a sub back. And also would not mind to have a reward for playing the game for a certain period of time (account existence, like 1 year/2 years/etc) or something for character's 'birthdays' ;) There was a thing like that in Guild Wars 2 - you get neat thingies and experience boosters on your character's birthday (1 or 2 years on a character would grant you insta boost to level 20 for a new character). It wouldn't hurt to have the ability to level up alts faster/instantly by getting such a gift.

I nice pet or 1 crown crate a month won't hurt

Okay, yeah, a free crown crate, I wouldn't object to, assuming it didn't take away our 1500 crowns a month.

Well, I would say better to have each loyality reward to be different each time than getting same amount of crowns or 1 crown crate. In such way we would not be surprised but we would be able to predict what reward we will get in few days, weeks, months. This could kill all the fun of loyality rewards.

I bet ZOS could target such issues in your sub and still count to loyality reward time. Also such rewards would be nice as a kind of refund for all these maintenance issues and long time we had to wait cuz of their side problems.

Subs get crowns now instead so you buy w.e. item you want with them rather than receive something random every few months and it doesn't make sense to have the art team work on custom items just for loyalty subscribers

This encourages people to subscribe ...which they are already doing and is makes no sense to do this now or in the future because they said they wouldn't add back the requirement to sub.

They've already locked exclusive benefits behind a sub so doing this would kill off some customers, it's not the best approach

They did, you know there are people who sub for 2-3 months in row and then do break and re-sub after few months back, this is OK. Only thing I would like to see is rewarding loyal members of ESO+ who sub each month w/o any breaks. It's only about appreciating not about exaltation them.

Well, they changed title of this game from The Elder Scrolls Online to The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited since it went B2P model so they can also change the name for loyalty rewards and they will be able to skip words they said about it >:)

Loyalty rewards would be nice, but it should be "free stuff" extras rather than exclusive items. I know someone said that the 1500 crowns a month is the "loyalty rewards", but I honestly feel like that's just part of ESO+.

I'm not sure exactly how they were before, but I think "Loyalty rewards" should be rewards for long-term subbing, not just a new monthly addition.
So, maybe if you've subbed for the whole year (counting at least X days a month, so that some of those random unsub glitches don't count against you), you get extra crowns. Or if you've been a member for a whole crown crate season, you get free crown crates (1 or 4) for the next crown crate season.

I'm not a huge fan of exclusive things, so I wouldn't want exclusive items--especially in an MMO, where it's supposed to last for a few years. I don't like the idea that some people miss out on things they may want because of bad timing--like someone missing out on something they'd buy because they didn't know about the game. Or someone that actually waits until they're 18 to start playing. I know that in general, it's pretty much inevitable, but I'd rather support bonuses and free stuff than exclusive stuff.

And actually, since I was reading some of the past comments, I'd like to also add that I'm not married to it being ESO+ exclusive. Like, maybe if anyone puts in X hours of game-time, they get the reward. Or plays an hour or two X amount of days.
It could probably be exploited, but they don't need to make the rewards super high. Basically balance the rewards and requirements so that it doesn't hinder loyal players with busy lives (work, family, etc.), while also not being super-worth exploiting with just logging in and standing there. Like little "Thank you for playing!" bonuses, that show they care, but aren't the end of the world to miss.

Loyalty reward in the first year were a great cat mount, a few pets and the best jester costume ever in the game.

Today it's crowns, double bank space and a bottomless crafting bag which the last two make it much nicer with playing the game. Of course there are a few other, smaller perks.

If Zos added to the loyalty rewards we already get is prefer it to be actually useful and beneficial to the game like an armory.

I think it's a little bit if entitlement to get all that and want some silly pets added in. Zos certainly isn't going to give the snazzy mounts out as loyalty.

I'm all in favour of loyalty rewards, but they need to be based on loyalty over a period of years rather than months. Annual recognition is the usual way rather than say 3 monthly.

I don't think they need to be the sole preserve of subscribers, other people contribute in other ways with just as much commitment (which is what loyalty is all about) so they could equally be based on Crown purchases. Someone who spends £X on Crowns over a year is no less loyal to the game than someone who spends the same amount on a subscription over a year. An alternative approach is to reward those who demonstrate their loyalty by logging in for a minimum amount of time although I imagine that would be more difficult to administer.

All that said, I don't play a game in order to benefit from loyalty rewards and it doesn't bother me in the slightest if a game doesn't have them. I can probably count on the thumbs of one hand how many such rewards I've had in the past across a multitude of games that were actually worth having!

As much as I hate to turn down free stuff, this seems highly unfair.

Who is more loyal, the person who Subs to ESO+ for 3 months, or the person who has played ESO for 2 years and spent hundreds in the Crown Store but isn't an ESO+ member?

The original loyalty reward was done when everyone had to subscribe, and through a time when their were a huge amount of technical issues to put up with. With the introduction of B2P the playing field has changed, and loyalty rewards have lost their meaning.

Absolutely not. They aren't better than players who supported the game by buying crowns, but not subscribing.

Doing loyalty rewards at this point is just telling other players that they aren't as important and if frankly a slap in the face.

Only if "loyalty" will be defined as, say, time spent in game, then it could be discussed.

These 5 free crown crates were a brilliant idea for loyalty rewards.

Well I think it could work both ways, loyalty rewards to ESO+ constant members and loyalty rewards based on Crowns you spent in Store. Actually ZOS would be even add a kind of loyalty rewards for those whos playtime is at high numbers.

I totally agree, we should not divide players for those better or worse. I think there could be a way to rewards both sides. ZOS would have to make some calculations only.

They are already rewarding subscribers with crowns which they can spend as they wish, for example, but crown crates if they want stuff that is "exclusive".
