As much as I hate to turn down free stuff, this seems highly unfair.

Who is more loyal, the person who Subs to ESO+ for 3 months, or the person who has played ESO for 2 years and spent hundreds in the Crown Store but isn't an ESO+ member?

The original loyalty reward was done when everyone had to subscribe, and through a time when their were a huge amount of technical issues to put up with. With the introduction of B2P the playing field has changed, and loyalty rewards have lost their meaning.

It is in Zos' best interests to encourage subscriptions. Very regular cash flow and it costs far more to sub for a year than to buy the DLCs. Time spent in game is rather meaningless since revenue is what matters.

However, zos provides incentive via other means. Double bank space and the virtually bottomless crafting bag. Those are by far more than some poorly designed trinkets. Those are much more significant than an occasional costume or one of the less interesting mounts.

I guess Zos could offer a choice to players. Double bank space and the crafting back or a player could choose a random reward Zos could offer. It would be a bad business decision to provide both since it could be a deterrent for players to spend more on crowns and would be unlikely to bring in more subscriptions.

Yep. One of the last subscriber rewards back when that was the only way we could play the game. The Circus of Cheerful Slaughter costume is pretty cool as well. Best jester costume that has been in the game.

Anyway, the 'loyalty reward' would fall under the categories of either 'potion' or 'nixhound'.

Yes, but those Crowns which subscribers get might be only spend through Crown Store for things which actually everyone can get if they have enough Crowns. It's all about to reward people who subscribe or spend tons of Crown Points with something unique which won't be obtainable through store which is open to everyone.

Nonsense. Your "unique" rewards will similarly be available to everyone else who subscribe or spent a lot (enough) of crowns.

I love a company that provides a steady, realiable product in turn for what I'm paying them. ZOS does this for me with a craft bag, crowns, DLC access, double bank space and double housing item space. I'm happy with that.

I ADORE a company that sends me little extra freebies with my order, like product samples or even a piece of candy. I will pick that company over a comparable company when both provide the same reliable service.

Yes they will, but they won't be available to all of the players. You don't think every single player in ESO is spending tons of Crowns or subscribing ESO+ for months, don't you?

i will say that i should be given special items from clockwork city instead of the stuff i have.
i went out of my way back then to support eso and the 3 rewards i have for them i never even use nor even think of because i don't like them.
i do however like the new things i'm seeing in clockwork city.
so if anything i would like to use my rewards as exchange for some things in clockwork city.

Perfect, now read your previous comment and this comment skipping what I said. You just proved my point yourself.

Not all players spend tons of crowns, so no - not every player will have everything that subscribers and players who do spend tons of crowns have. On the other hand subscribers and spenders can not only buy everything in the crown store, but also buy tons of crown crates and get all of that. That's their reward.

Absolutely no reason to reward someone who can and already does buy his own reward. That made sense when subscription was the only option. Doing it now defeats the purpose. They are already rewarded with the crafting bag, % bonuses, ability to dye costumes, crowns to buy more stuff.

Why would we want to give even more than that? Especially something others can't obtain when they already have some things others don't have?

These 5 free crown crates were a brilliant idea for loyalty rewards.
We could get 5 more for each month of subscription :).

Well, Secret Worlds Legends coughs up a lockbox key every day you log in if you're a subscriber. So, there is some possibility there. Granted, their lockbox system includes a lot of generic gear upgrades, so, not exactly the same thing.

Dude, the thing is to reward subscribers or crowns spenders with something unique not something you can get from game content or through crown store. This is how works crown crates, you can obtain items which were available through crown store. My point is to add something special for such people something what you will get once and you won't be able to get it through any way laters. People here place their suggestions about how it should work so there are some more or less pointed ideas.

    @ad4mss

I think you have a great point. Remove the crowns that come with the subscription and have Zos decide on something special to give us from time to time instead.

It offers a double benefit. Zos gets to provide us with something they can specifically state is a loyalty reward and we get to personally decide if we wish to support the crown store or not. Of course, we have less control over what we get but we can call it a loyalty reward.

Actually it would be nice to have a choice in what reward we want to get, for example at the end of each period of subscription time player get opportunity to choose between let say 5 different items.

Buy Crown Crates and you will get a loyalty reward. This is the reward I envision they will roll out, long before they do another play or subscription reward. After all, we kill monsters to get them, these days.

Honestly I will never understand why they ended the loyalty program. With an optional subscription, I feel like they would be much more relevant as an incentive for people to stay subscribed, since you don't have the "otherwise you can't play" incentive like you did when the loyalty rewards were a thing.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

WE get 1,500 Crowns a month to buy our own Loyalty Rewards.

Should ZOS bring back loyality rewards for those who sub with ESO+ for months, years already and for those who buy and spend Crown Points in the in-game store? Any comments are welcome.

Loyalty points should be earned towards a grand total, such that the longer the total sub time the more you get rewards. Like for example subscribers could cumulatively get +1 percent extra crowns per month subbed in total (and the bonus would of course only get payed when subbing, but the total percentage would not be wiped when ending a subscription). I do not believe there should be a continuity type of bonus that you would lose if you stopped subbing for a period. Imo anyway; I would feel less inclined to resub if I knew I'd lost my bonus.

What kind of loyalty is this if you get 1500 crowns per each subscription month? I should call my self loyal to the game if I subscribe for 1 month over 2 years of playing already? I don't think so it's a kind of loyalty.
