Get ready for double traited weapons. (Transmutation)

    If you've ever played with item codes a bit (for posting in chat) you'll gain some insight into how gear is represented by the game. As far as I remember, each set+weapon/armor type+TRAIT is stored and referenced as ONE single integer (other values in the item string give quality of item and maybe motif for crafted items).

    So the integer 5456834 could be infused viper bow, while 5456834 could be sharpened viper bow. This is likely why ZOS agreed to implement a trait change before a motif change. Trait change is just modding a single value, and there is no value for a multi trait weapon, so it would be relatively straight forward for them to do it without bugs.

    I guess we'll see. You'd think it would be easy to respawn in cyrodiil without a loadscreen too.

    I can see how this thread might be easy to misinterpret, but its far from apocalyptic. Quite the opposite. I find it amazing that in spite of the sheer number of bugs, exploits, and issues this game has that are almost completely preventable, the game continues to do well and make a profit.

    Its like when you are dating a girl that way out of league, and no matter what you do, or don't do, she stays with you. So at some point you start to push the limits just because you can.

    That is the development team with this game. Enough people stay loyal to this game no matter what they do.

    So since we are going to stick around and co-dependently enable the developers to continue to pump out mediocre work, maybe we can do the recursion testing they refuse to do and predict errors before we have to wait three months to get them fixed.

    The bolded part is why I think there's little chance for double traits exploit to make its debut but I do have the same concern as @Yolokin_Swagonborn. It's ZoS after all. :(

    My biggest concern now is that the OP has now stressed the issue which means too much work to implement correctly, which means we won't be getting it; just like spell crafting.

    Not only do two trait weapons and armour not exist, but the game has no way to even handle it! As Drummerx04 pointed out, items with different traits have different itemIDs, so while potentially you could get some random weapon you weren't hoping for, you will not be able to get a two traited item, since an item can't have two item Ids. It's just not possible.

    Mundus stones and race passives are different. For buffs and passives, there are ability Ids. And, unlike Items, which can't have two itemIds, characters can have multiple ability Ids applied to them. So if ability Ids are not removed properly, then you get that issue. If an Item Id is changed properly, you simply go to another random spot on the large, giant table of itemIds. But since no itemId has two traits, you can't get an item with two traits.

    I don't think they'll break it. They might still break it, but they won't break it in this (double traits) manner.
