If you are close or have the achievement Master Angler or even know a friend that does. About how long did it take in complete total to get? Weeks, months, YEARS?

I got my master angler title some time during last summer and it took several weeks, and I caught around 10k fish until I got the title.
The first zone I finished was Cyrodiil. After I was done there, I started rewatching all seasons of Game of Thrones while fishing, and when I was finished with the last episode of season 6 (so roughly 60 hours) I still had a few DC zones left.

Whenever I see a master angler I always am impressed. I really want that boat for the house but man it's some serious dedication.

I have 5 Master Anglers and it took each one of them several weeks to complete as long as you do some serious fishing. I have friends that quit after catching a couple of fish......they are bored already. They will never get Master Angler that way!

I dont remember it taking that long tbh, i think 2 weeks or something or maybe 3 but I definitely was doing other things at the same time, like i said a life lol. Its not as consuming as its made out and im sure you can watch a tv series or something while youre doing it.

I was on console so i got used to the pad vibration that told me when to press X

My biggest advice to you, start with the Alikr. That place was probably the worst for me as the foul fish spots were scarce and they had 2 rare fish in them.
Everything after that should feel easier and trust me lol, you'll make friends on the way.

Working on number 3 right now.

Other two took about 6 weeks or so...but that's with some serious fishing while also working a full time job.

Only go for the title with my characters who have "earned" it...

So that would be "almost" 3 three out of 22 thus far.

It's the ONLY title that I will display

Around 5 months, but I was fishing alone and also doing other things woth my chatacter (questing, crafting, doing dungeons). The worst for me was Coldharbor, with all the damn glowy blue water and the water spots being all the same.

i have started wednesday , i get : repear march / rivenspire / grathwood / greenshad / glenumbra / estemarch .
1 year ago i get Auridon.

I have 2 master anglers, both took about 3 - 4 months of pretty dedicated fishing (and swearing!) to complete.

Somehow, I don't think I'll end up with 14 of them... I'd go mad!

It took me 3 months and I did it mostly solo. This also after homestead where they added furnishing loot into the item pool

Funny I started yesterday actually and it was all part of a joke between my friends. We got the fishes in the starting areas (I mean the tiny islands) and it took an evening.
I really want to go for all the achievements but this is going to take years for me because I find it very boring. I will probably something like @Svenja , re watch a TV show or just watch movies or something while fishing.

I never really took it seriously until I neared completion, so it actually took about 2 years!

Though in those days there weren't the incentives there are today - no perfect roe - so it was just done for the achievement.

When I did start to take it seriously I completed them quite quickly. Though I think it took a couple of weeks to get the final fish - in Auridon.

I completed it when Homestead appeared because I wanted the boat. Took a few weeks and I watched netflix while I fished.

i think mine took about 6 mo.
I did it the first year of launch and Rivenspire and Cyrodiil was the hardest.
I remember how proud I was of the title!! Then new zones opened.....Lol
I actually would pull my title until I fished the new zone.
I think ZoS needs a updated title for also finishing fishing in all the new zones...Hews Bane, Gold Coast, Craglorn, Vvardenfell, etc...
To all those about to get the title, I say.....Huzzah and Congrats!!
I still have ppl come up to me in towns and comment on it!

What is so big about Master Angler? Is it the number of fish you catch or you get something once you get the achievement?

Several months and I just need Malabal Tor ocean plus Reapers March as of this post.

I'm averaging about 200 per bait type per zone. Sometimes you'll get unlucky. Last night I took 3 hours straight just for foul water blue in Malabal Tor, not counting the two previous evenings fishing. It's good to have a TV next to your computer, turn the sound fx up so you'll hear the stretch of the line while you're watching a show.

Fishing is relaxing in this game. I took my time fishing each region while questing so, it took months. I did not pressure myself to get the title, I am enjoying the game while fishing at the same time.

I might as well go for another master angler with one of my alts.

There are 4 kinds of fishing spots. Foul Water, Ocean, Lakes and Rivers. Each take a different type of bait.
In each Zone, there are on avg, 12 Rare fish you can catch. 3 from each water source.
Once you catch all the rare fish in all the base zones, you get the "Master Angler" achievement and Title.
"Master Angler" is if not still the rarest, but most respected Title.

"Emperor" can be bought, vMSA is hard but lots have done it...Maybe Rank 50 in AvA is almost as hard and rare..
And there are add ons to help with tracking what fish you have and what you still need and where along with whole guilds dedicated to just fishing...

I have not decided to pursue this yet. But I continue to collect bait just in case.

I would be more interested in achieving this if it served a combat purpose. Even a little one...like getting an extra champion point or something.

Six months...first five months on and off, last month doing mostly that a couple hours a day after work.

Still think its one of the more beautiful aspects of any video game ever created, and Ive been at them since pong. I may well do it again eventually, its just relaxing. And less trouble than dragging the boat out,particularly after work.
