Maintenance for the week of September 15:
• [COMPLETE] Xbox: NA and EU megaservers for patch maintenance – September 16, 6:00AM EDT (10:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EDT (16:00 UTC)
• [COMPLETE] PlayStation®: NA and EU megaservers for patch maintenance – September 16, 6:00AM EDT (10:00 UTC) - 12:00PM EDT (16:00 UTC)

Maintenance schedule instability. ZoS needs an educational slap.

Am I the only one who saw before 6 hours that PC maintenance takes place at 8:00 UTC? I woke up early to do some important stuff before maintenance and what do I see? An announcement saying that PC servers will be taken down for maintenance at 7:00 UTC.

I got used to prolonged maintenances, I got used to inconsistency between EU and US but I simply can't stand this. Is it normal to ignore a fixed schedule without posting anything? No appologies, no reasoning, nothing.

I am really getting fed up with ZoS and their behaviour.

Changing a fixed schedule overnight without announcing is inadmissible. No matter if it's in a video-game, in work or somewhere else.

Only reason I started doing my writs was because it originally said 4am EDT. I hate separating accounts I like to do them one after the other.

Yeah, I just walked in the door, rushing to get a few things done in the next 45 minutes, only to see it's already down :( Not happy here either... but nothing we can do about it except complain where no one will listen anyhow.

I hurried home after work, hoping I had at least an hour of gameplay before ZOS starts their 7+ hour display of incompetence, but they freakin changed the schedule!!

    a) ZOS doesn't give a [expletive here].

    b) Monday(EU time) is maintenance day, actual times posted are fictional(very loose estimates at best) and bear no relation to material reality.

    c) play something else in the meantime, I would recommend Stellaris or maybe Age of Wonders 3.

Rather don't play ESO on Monday because there will be a maintenance. It is common here not to know when the maintenance ends. But not knowing when it starts? That's a bit too much.

The scheduling was already inconsistent as it is (on a week by week basis), now they're changing the time last minute.

Considering it went down at 12:00 AM here in California, a huge amount of west-coasters and other people in the U.S. were still playing.

The timing is just so off. It needs to be moved back several hours.

Just like death and taxes - there will always be some excuse as to why.
But since we are always so patient no matter what it is - ZOS will do what they want since it is always our fault.

For the past few months, they've had it at 4 AM Eastern. And then the past three weeks, it was 3 AM Eastern.

When I saw the banner saying that it was 4 AM, I thought that it meant that the weeks of 3 AM maintenance were just temporary and that they're returning to the 4 AM norm.

But then I saw 3 AM in the banner, and now I'm wondering if 3 AM is the new standard maintenance time and that the 4 AM era is over.

PS: I suspect that they made it 3 AM to better accommodate European players.

PPS: Initially, I thought that it had said 3 AM all along and that the 4 AM was just me going crazy and imagining things. So it was nice to see a thread confirming that the banner really did change from 4 to 3.

    May I have your stuff?
FYI - There is no such thing as 'night capping' in a world wide MMO.
FYI - There was no paid Beta. When they launched the game the Beta was over, even if you don't think it was.
    FYI - It's B2P not F2P. There is a difference.
FYI - It doesn't take any player skill to mash keys or buttons in this game. The ones that stay alive longer have the better internet connection and speed.
FYI - The game is not broken, it still works. It just has 'bugs' that need to be fixed.
    Balance is a "Bad" thing.

Example: There were hundreds of Jedi and only two Sith in Star Wars. The Jedi wanted, "Balance in the Force" and they got it. Now there are only two Jedi and two Sith.

    Yes.

Don't forget that they recently also dragged us all offline to fix an 'exploit'. One introduced with a maintenance patch.

When I looked at the forums around 2:30am EST, the banner said the servers were coming down at 4am EST. Then at 2:45am EST a server-wide announcement was made that servers were coming down in 15 minutes. I went to the forums and saw that the time was ninja changed to 3AM.

    Nice, ZOS...

It's not the end of the world, its just scheduled maintenance.

The SCHEDULED maintenance was supposed to be an hour later. When you place an announcememt over 24 hours before an event, then change the announcement right before the event with no warning and proceed with the new "schedule", well...I'm not sure what to call that but it's definitely not "scheduled".

And I agree it's not such a big deal but it's very indicative of their attitude. They put that warning up there. People plan in accordance to it. Then they silently change it without even a separate announcement or anything, screwing those plans over and not even bothering to say "sorry", and all of that because...because what exactly? I'm struggling to think of a sensible reason to randomly take servers down an hour before it was scheduled. And of course they won't bother telling us because why would they? We're just their paying customers, our job is buying crown crates, not asking questions.
