Just give it 4k penetration instead the block thingymajingy.

That's too much 1000-1500 are ok

Not too much at all! Don't 2H mauls get around 5000 penetration?

Nah, mauls ignore 20% of enemies resistance. But it's calculated after other pen is applied such as sharpened, breach/fracture etc.

Change one of the morphs of inner fire. Both are terrible. Stam one is utterly useless.

Make it so when you have the new morph on your bar, blocking costs magica. Something like that.

Frees up ice staves for dps again.

That is also a good option, inner fire just giving more damage on the synergy is so meh. Puncture is a strong ability that makes ice/magicka tanking pointless without an equvilient. I would use an inner fire morph that fractures and breeches on my sword and board magicka tank if it was better even without a staff.

Perhaps we can just get both.

Ice element giving armor and spell Pen as a passive would make it a strong support element As long as the number is low enough that it doesn't overpower fire and lightnings damage amps. I suspect Fracture and Breech would be too strong. In any case ice = support not nessairily tank is what I would want to achieve. It is even kind of thematic.. ice making armor more brittle.

whats the point of having a frost damage passive if NOTHING in the game benefits frost?

Fix the stupid frost tank thing till this day i have YET to see a frost staff tank.. it was a failure design PERIOD.

You ruined a staff that could have been helpful with warden atleast somewhat helpful.

Ancient knowledge is where frost staff is being destroyed by everything else

Flame staff 8% damage increase with single target abilities
Lightening staff increase aoe abilities by 8%

And on top of all this where is the logic in a frost staff user being a tank? Please tell me where this idea came from?

Just pretty annoyed that the worst dps class in game is being held back by numerous things along with little dumb things like frost staff...

    Agreed!

I'd also like Nords to have some passive for frost damage, so I could justify playing a Nords frostmage/warrior.
Of course the bear would have to be changed to a polar bear, the cliff racer to a penguin and the fungus theme to a hot springs theme.

There are 2 issues. The Warden obviously never was meant to be a class which is competitive on DPS. They have an over-abundance of healing and utility skills but besides Cliff Racer, Deep Fissure and Fetcher Flies there are no DPS skills to begin with. Because of the design mishap buffing Warden DPS is not an easy task without making it overpowered in PvP. I mean, the Cliff Racers everyone loves so much are a direct result of this - you have to make them undodgeable or Warden wouldn't get any damage off at all.

The second issue which synergizes with this is the abomination that frost damage generally is. ZOS had some nice ideas, notably the Winterborn and Ice Furnace sets, but they are half finished concept studies at best. I don't understand why frost damage is so weak. In PvP Winterborn gives an immobilize that can be nice, but there are better options for that, which makes the 5pc too weak. In PvE it's not even above the crafted sets. Julianos is way better in every regard. It's kind of strange considering the set comes from vMA originally.

I think a lot of people would love to play a frost Mage, that's why the Warden was so much anticipated - it was a huge bummer for me when I found out that the idea of a frost wielding Druid is nice for RP but not actually a competitive choice.

The Warden passives need some love, and everything related to frost would be a great start.

They could always buff winter's revenge to hit harder like Liquid lightning. Frost damage is weak... But a frozen spell weave and have frost staff buff magic damage by 8%. Make inner fire give breach and fracture. And why does there need a mag block??? Is it really popular?

150% agree. Even after leveling and putting purple 160 gear on my MagWarden it was brutal taking her into even Normal group Dungeons as a DPS trying to do an IceMage playstyle. The damage done that way is abysmal.

2h maul gets 3800 penetration on bosses with 18k resist.

Which is worth considering even a 1h maul which gives 1900 penetration which is also nice
