Fix the stupid frost tank thing till this day i have YET to see a frost staff tank.. it was a failure design PERIOD.
You ruined a staff that could have been helpful with warden atleast somewhat helpful.
Ancient knowledge is where frost staff is being destroyed by everything else
Flame staff 8% damage increase with single target abilities
Lightening staff increase aoe abilities by 8%
And on top of all this where is the logic in a frost staff user being a tank? Please tell me where this idea came from?
Just pretty annoyed that the worst dps class in game is being held back by numerous things along with little dumb things like frost staff...

✭✭✭PvE Not wanting to taunt in dungeons but still use HA means saving two skill points. Even if they gave us half as much as the fire and lightning bonus or something else.
PvP ability to taunt is good but I would trade it for either of the other destro passives that equate more damage.

Yes. 1000 spell penetration would make it atleast a little more appealing and it would change the fact that fire and shock is still better which it should be but frost staff shouldnt be forced to tank.

But I read that passive yesterday and I remember being disappointed that it only affected the class abilities, not destro. ✭✭The pre rework icestaff wouldn't have worked for warden. The extra frost damage on warden doesn't beat fire or lightning passives. Also the highest damage type on a magicka warden is magic damage. All that frost passive does right now is buff that frost AOE, which actually does nice DPS, and northern storm, which can be good for bombing in PvP but is apart from that only good for the 8% magicka.
In my opinion icestaffes should buff damage over time. Ancient Knowledge should lose the taunt and give faster heavy attacks for frost staves and a flat % damage reduction while charging heavy attacks.
The Undaunted taunt skill is perfectly fine for magicka tanking.2 -

Northern storm? You mean the thing that does 3/4 less damage than destro ult on tool tip with same duration ? No. Thats not good for bombing unless you just want damage mitigating which is useless for bombing.0 -

✭✭Puncture is just stupidly strong that there is no reason not to use it... plus you also get access to 5-5-2 tanking with sword and board. I believe it is also easier to reach resistance and block cost reduction caps.
It needed to be the force pulse or the ice clench a nice spammable ability be the taunt and give minor maim. Then... ancient knowleadge should be ice attacks give you armor and spell penetration. Bamn ice tanking now a thing, also ice healing since wall of ice would give team extra damage.. doubley helping wardens.
Basically it isn't even hard to make ice staff be a tanking weapon the issue is they didn't even try they just switched a passive not the abilities, that needed changes.Edited by Narvuntien on August 17, 2017 4:55AM2 -

then have frost runes for the one hand and rune skill line if you must have frost tanking.though I would personally prefer stuff like the ogre shaman's ice pillar or an ice spike dps skill.

Change one of the morphs of inner fire. Both are terrible. Stam one is utterly useless.
Make it so when you have the new morph on your bar, blocking costs magica. Something like that.

✭✭✭✭✭There are 2 issues. The Warden obviously never was meant to be a class which is competitive on DPS. They have an over-abundance of healing and utility skills but besides Cliff Racer, Deep Fissure and Fetcher Flies there are no DPS skills to begin with. Because of the design mishap buffing Warden DPS is not an easy task without making it overpowered in PvP. I mean, the Cliff Racers everyone loves so much are a direct result of this - you have to make them undodgeable or Warden wouldn't get any damage off at all.
The second issue which synergizes with this is the abomination that frost damage generally is. ZOS had some nice ideas, notably the Winterborn and Ice Furnace sets, but they are half finished concept studies at best. I don't understand why frost damage is so weak. In PvP Winterborn gives an immobilize that can be nice, but there are better options for that, which makes the 5pc too weak. In PvE it's not even above the crafted sets. Julianos is way better in every regard. It's kind of strange considering the set comes from vMA originally.
I think a lot of people would love to play a frost Mage, that's why the Warden was so much anticipated - it was a huge bummer for me when I found out that the idea of a frost wielding Druid is nice for RP but not actually a competitive choice.
