Hey, you know that big bright yellow circular object in the sky? Go outside and enjoy some of that, it's good for you!

Seriously, they're updating with the new DLC so relax and do something else. Anyone who plans a day around this should expect by now after 2 decades of MMO's being a thing (UO in 1997, EQ1 in 1999, WoW and EQ2 in 2004 which wa salso when MMO's started to become mainstream, etc...) that patch days take some time and content updates may take more. They almost always run into issues later on as well. These days should be a write-off day where you plan other things to get done and out of the way.

I'd rather it be done right the first time than wrong and end up with further downtimes.

People have no life lol. Go out, meet some people, invite friends for a beer, workout, grab your gf/wife and go on a date. Try a new hobby, read a book. Watch a movie/ anime / series. Read lore. Research new builds. Play another game. Work on your back yard. Walk a dog. Go shopping... ffs idk there's milions of other things to do you lazy asses.

Edit: "BUT MUH SCHEDULE"... That's life lol. I get it that you want to play now because you can. That's not an excuse to not do anything else productive though.

I don't complain about maintenance but I still don't like when people say stuff like the bolded above. I mean you are sat here on the forums telling other people to go F off out elsewhere. I can't decide if ironic or hypocritical.

Everyone knew this maintenance was coming - so people should chill, but at the same time the smarmy 'go smell a dog's backside whatever' posts are just as bad.

I am not sat here on the forums. I'm on my way to work. There's data on phones now just fyi. @Mureel
Same diff. I'm sat on the toilet on my phone. Point is?

Point is you're at home taking a crap and not being otherwise productive. Are people here really that thick? @Everyone

Look, ya made a smarmy post and from wherever you wrote it, it was still a load of snark no one needs, any more than they need moaning about maintenance.

Further, I've already put in a day's work, cleaned my house, then sat on the toilet lid waiting for my kid to come out of the shower. lol.

So then why do you attack my post lol. Obviously you've done something already so why bother? That was my whole point.

Also all I tried to do was give people ideas more than trying to be offensive.

Not my fault some of the players really do nothing but play ESO, eat, poop and sleep.

I have to wonder whether or not people who post stuff as the OP did arent on ZOS's payroll....it keeps the masses busy pointing and laughing at a target while they get the job done. I mean....NO ONE can be that dense, right?

Then I look out my window at my neighbor watering his lawn.....in the rain.

    Sorry, my bad. Carry on.
The opinions of others should always be heard, especially if they dont agree with your own! But you always reserve the right to laugh at them.

The main problem with extended maintenance ... is its effect on horse feed times. Of course, this problem would be solved if only Tamrielic horses could be fed once/day without regard to the exact time ...

It just hit me how much of a time sink ESO is...
During this patching period I've done more laundry, dishes, and cooking that I have all week.

Maintenance has to be performed, whether we like it or not. I play D2 during that time.

However, I wish the company would do what Blizzard does with large patches, stream them slowly onto your computer while you are playing (this normally starts about 4 weeks prior to release).

The stream is not intrusive, you don't notice it while playing, and on release date they have a small patch (normally about 250MB - 300MB with some last second changes and the key that unlocks the DLC/Expansion on your computer).

    Mmm.
    Context.

For the person that pointed out the "time sink" issue, this is the basic issue. I try to plan my play time; the earlier start meant that decisions made earlier in the day, were now wasted.

As stated, I ONLY come to the forums when I don't have any operational game to play. I know that 'regular maintenance' is for me, Monday 600PM - 830PM usually; and I DO MAKE ALLOWANCE for that. This is why I changed some RL plans to be home a bit earlier to get some gameplay in, from 5-6PM.

On that basis, I still feel justified in my assertion that starting maintenance earlier, was to someone else's benefit, not mine.
Entitled? Too right. The money that I have spent on this game ENTITLES me to complain when it does not meet MY EXPECTATIONS. Regardless of the TOS. Build a bridge on this and get over it.

Furthermore, the improvements introduced over the past 3-4 weeks have meant that I have had no real reason to complain about anything! so TeamZOS, thanks for paying attention to the lag and disconnection issues; they have improved my gameplay experience immensely.

But that also means I have no knowledge of the new DLC, other that what I see in forum chat. So, it isn't something that I am waiting with baited breath for. Some more in-game communication about these changes would be appreciated.

As to being a ZOS employee, I can assure that I am not. As a retaliatory response, there are several forum trolls who pounce on these types of discussions, each and every time. Given the 'time sink' phenomenon, I wonder how these folk can play the game AND spend so much time here at the forum. Maybe it's their job?

    Thanks for all the fish!
Don't worry so much about the Myrhh next time.
I got suspenders for saying "Testicular Mass" instead of "Balls". like, rilly.
