I've been playing another game lately and each time they have maintenance they post their patch notes a day before the patch, they listen to feedback and developers keep players up to date on what is going on with the maintenance and why it's taking longer if it is.After 3 years you would think people would understand it takes as long as it takes. You act as if they want it to take longer so there's 87 threads on the forums from people complaining.
It's annoying, yes, but it's not like they are saying "oh snap Yarlenzey is mad, hurry it up!!!"

'expectlast time they sped up patching the game was in unplayable condition for 14 hours and they did "emergency maintenance" for more hours all over again
every monday there is
1) patch
2) unexpected issue
sometimes fixing the unexpected issue take 10 mins others 10 hours, depends on human error and un-optimization
Well, they started an hour earlier. That may not affect you, but it affects me and my time-planning.
I expected a six o'clock start and planned around that.
So. As they started earlier, one could assume that would like to finish on time, to satisfy the important folk i.e. USians
But as ever, if maintenance goes on and on and on, then I'll come here and whinge about it.
Your participation, is entirely optional.

Sorry.
"Every Monday" there is "unexpected issue" <<< dwell on that for a while.
Should read 'Every Monday there is a problem'.
This time they started one hour earlier, as 'risk mitigation' - fine.
But now, TIME IS UP.
Please stop accepting poor service!!!!!

"grow up"
lol.
I logged on at five and got one the 'one minute' warning.
No, I don't want compensation (assuming that your know what that is), just what I paid for. Normally described as 'fee for service'.
How much do you get paid to be a pratt?

They probably average millions a month + whatever they already have from outright sales. They are NOT some starving indie group. They are probably closer to the billion $ mark and have LOW overhead. If a movie pulls 53 million a week JUST from theater sales, these guys make more from crown store and sub sales.

Really don't understand what is holding ESO back from doing this.
WoW has been going for over a decade and people still [snip] about maintenance. I wouldn't hold my breath on that stopping.
I would much prefer them to do it right than do it fast.
