Burning Spellweave had quite a good run considering everybody and their grandmother was running it and we for sure don't want another situation like that again where magicka classes get pigeon holed into a one set for all scenario.

BSW had a great run, but then we entered the Glorious Era of Play How You Want which hath smote the meta and any new ones that attempt to emerge from the ashes and stuff.

yeah that whole play the way you want really doesn't help with that.

That is how it should be and it's a good thing. No one set should be the best because that what everyone will wear and there is no build diversity. Now we have to think about what we are doing rather than follow the streamer pipers. This is better as people may realize there are different paths to the same goal. Or at least some of us will.

Would much rather have strong sets than build diversity. Not to mention I've seen others trying to do such things, and end up with terrible results.

Maybe when yall watch Alcast and Gilliam for pts theorycrafting, you should stick around for the 30 times in each video that they say "remember, it's PTS, so everything is subject to change".

That said, reverting the precise change and nerfing shadow, nerfing thief even further, that's pretty dumb. I understand not wanting a boe set and a crafted set to be BIS, but traits and munduses were at a great balance point on pts.

    THANK YOU

    where are these notes?

Always keep track of new patch notes on PTS server forum.

    I only see 3.1.4

There's a part on the 3.1.5 notes listening the changes from the latest PTS note (last page)

Feel bad for the people that bought it.

I was shopping around for MS, didn't see any armor piece or jewels for less than 45k.

Decided it was a rip-off and I'd just farm it myself. Glad I didn't buy any. ;)

It's your own fault to believe a meta build before a patch is a thing on live server.

Looking at "Mother Sorrow Rush" during past few days; i saw nothing but bunch of dudes eager to become OP just by copying Alcast build.

Apparently, ZOS played a joke because the intent was so obvious...

You do realize this just shifts the meta to Spinner+(Julianos/BSW/Scathing/Netch) with Apprentice, right? There's always going to be a BIS.

It's not standard practice for companies to make changes from PTS on the day the patch goes live.

ZOS is the outlier here, and this is very, very poor implementation on their part. Players invested into a set expecting a certain outcome, but that outcome was changed at the last moment. This information should have been provided by ZOS to the players, but it was not. This is generally a pretty *** way to run things IMO and doesn't bode well for future communication on anything, since while it was obvious they knew the hype generated about this specific set, they did not care to communicate the changes to players in advance.

    Really, really unprofessional IMO.

Without build diversity there are no "strong" sets, just average ones.

So bugs and issues discovered in the last PTS patch a week before should be left as is and not fixed in the release version? That last week on PTS is not actually "testing" but early bird specials?

    no, thats not common.

As for the bold, players who invest REAL GAME assets based on what they see in PTS before it goes live in final version are gambling an a potential outcome and gambles don't always pay off.

the belief that what is on the PTS will make LIVE unchanged has been shown over and over to be untrue. So they are not even good gamblers.

its like betting the farm on the Senators beating the Globetrotters cuz "they were due!"

The opportunity costs when gambling on PTS builds is very high, since they always change before release and in this particular case it was a set that is easy to farm overland, especially the jewels. Small armor pieces are also easy to get.

Yeah people invested all there gold mostly in Sorrow + Precise right before patch day glad I didn't I knew they would nerf both again

I was just saying in another thread. So glad I did not farm the c**p out of gear or use legendary mats to upgrade gear for this update. Never, never, ever do this till an update hits and you read the natch potes. Zos is too good at trolling the community, but a lot of people are just too impatient and want their stuff on day one so they can jump right in.

People act like nerfing MS was the sure fire way of making it so there is build diversity lol. Give 2 or 3 days, there will be another setup that's bis. And after they nerf that set? You guessed it... Another new BiS

Killing mothers sorrow and fixing the double enchant proc issue with lightning blockade is not what killed diversity, and no one is claiming that. Those were valid changes to prevent a BoE set and a crafted set from being BiS based on a bug. The problem is that they also decided to kill shadow, kill thief further, revert the precise change, and reduce every crit buff beyond just Mother's Sorrow, all to the point that munduses and traits as a whole were no longer even close to eachother like they were on pts, and all in one patch. Not to mention "accidentally" making IA overpowered for a week.
