Horns of The Reach complete Review + Vet boss fights

Greetings everyone!

@Nicky and myself have been testing intensively Horns of The Reach. Granted we are not proplayers, like @Alcast or @Woeler We are averages gamers, that enjoy to play the game our way, but we have played since early alpha/beta, and so we have a certain experience. As such, we are sharing with you our feedback, from our perspective.

We have played through the Normal and Veteran version multiple time, with low level characters, high level characters and templates. We have not finished the Veteran last bosses, but worked on them, and were pretty close to victory. We also have done the story mode.

Sharing with you the result of our testing. We have published two review, an extended -relaxing one and a short one for impatient

Also sharing the extract of our Livestreams where we defeat all bosses on Veteran (except the last ones) and some clips of our best fails!

Hope this will help you to decide whether or not to purchase Horns of the Reach if you are not a ESO+, and to have an overview of the bosses fight, from the perspective of average gamer.

Great videos, voice overs, backdrops and facts, well done! I really enjoyed you telling the story of the dungeons. I really enjoyed seeing you fight the bosses and slowly work out some tactics. I am looking forward to the release of Horns of the Reach and The Hakkvild's High Hall.

Your short and long videos were amazing and I did like the parts where you walk through the dungeons, very cool. I like how you broke things down into different topics throughout the video. Very well done enjoyable videos!

It makes me want to run these dungeons noooooow

Elloa could narrate absolutely anything with that voice and make it sound great. I actually like to see videos from both the "pro" players and more average gamers in order to get a better overall look at content. The more average gamers gives a realistic view for most of us and the "pro" gamers give us something to aspire to.

Nice videos, OP.

Personally, I think the Dungeon DLC's are "meh". I had no interest in Shadows of the Hist, and I likewise have no interest in Horns of the Reach.

In fact, I've not been in the game in a month or so. I just can't get motivated to play after the abortive changes made with Morrowind. I like the Morrowind Zone well enough, but the changes to characters and Skills are atrocious IMO.

But I'm glad to see someone has an interest in these Dungeon DLC's.

Thanks for your kind comments guys. We really appreciate the feedback.
We are very much your typical or average player and whilst we've both been playing since alpha or beta and certainly have a good knowledge of the game we aren't focused on being 'the best' or 'highest dps' and such.

All the content we produce is from this perspective because I suspect most ESO players are just like us.

There's a Story Mode? Or is that just what you call it when you take a MagSorc into Normal.

Although you saying you've played through multiple times and still haven't finished the final Bosses makes me feel a bit uneasy. If this ends up being even worse than Cradle of Shadows is...

Well, SWTOR's story mode is intended for solo play, so I wouldn't consider normal dungeons the same as that. I'd love to have a story mode though (with different or even no rewards of course)...

Indeed, that's excactly what I meant @ArchMikem I was just speaking about the quest that you are doing in Dungeons. Many players tent to skip this, or just accept the quest, listen to the dialogue, and be done with it. The thing is that you have much more to explore, and to discover when you take the time to do it. There is little scenes happening, or dialogue between NPCs that are very often unoticed. Very often, you have NPC that are not the quest giver, to which you can talk to, in the middle on the Dungeon.
So when I say that we did the "story mode", I just meant that we toke the time to fully explore the story content. For that, we teamed up with 2 very nice friends, that were staying behind us to not trigger the scene/actions before we were ready and we talk to everyone we could. We discover some very nice little stories that are not very obvious and just lay in a corner if you are not attentive.

It was strangely relaxing, which is a take that I haven't seen on dungeons before. The music that was playing even made the fights feel relaxed. I liked that it gave a quick look at content (items, bosses, etc) without giving everything away so I can still discover a lot. The scenery looks great, and I look forward to figuring out the mechanics. I didn't get on PTS this time around, so I'll be seeing it for the first time in about 6 days.

We go for relaxing, casual gameplay...sometimes bordering on ASMR

I think it helps to figure out the tactics with a groups which is not the best, you can't beat it with dps alone then.
There are some very useful tactics throughout your videos.

Like getting the tank to stand in the lava circle thingies

I am unable to watch these right now, but do you compare them to the Shadows of the Hist DLC in terms of length and difficulty? If not, do you think they are on par with the previous dungeon dlc?

I am interested in farming some sets from HotR, especially Earthgore, and I am curious if I will experience the same hurdles as trying to complete Mazz on Vet. (That is to say, I have never found a team capable of beating Xal Nur and the people I know who can really do not want to do that dungeon again unless they have to).

@Ir0nB34r SOrry for the late answer, I was in hollidays.

The normal version is easy. Veteran mode I guess it will depend of who you play with and what kind of player you are. For a players like me, its challenging. Pretty sure that high DPS and experienced players will rush through it like in a breeze.
I'd recommand you to not PUG it the first weeks after release, the time to wait players start to get experienced with it.

It's getting out tomorow for PS4 and XBox One! I wonder how console players are awaiting for such content!

With regard Falkreath Hold the vet version is pretty challenging when first facing it, but once tactics are worked out its just a matter of putting it into practice. I'd say its deffo on par with other vet DLC and a bit more if not even more mechanic based, but deffo need a co-ordinated grp for these. there are lots of mechanics that need to be adhered to and things can 1 shot you, or DoT you to death if these mechanics arent met.
