Surprise Attack Doesn't Trigger Shadow Barrier?

Did this get a nerf to only mag shadow abilities at some point? The eso wiki has it as activation a shadow ability and the current in game description says casting. I feel like some people don't know this though because I've heard forum commenters and youtubers say that surprise attack will give you major resolve/ward.

✭✭✭✭✭@WuffyCerulei yeah please do. Looking at srendarrs I was getting the empower but not resolve/ward. Other skills on that line activate shadow barrier passsive. As far as I could tell it wasn't showing up on my stat sheet either.0 -

Reorx_Holybeard✭✭✭✭✭Seems to be working fine for me as well. I get the Major Ward/Resolve buff that shows up with Srendarr as well as my character screen and I gain the relevant spell/physical resistance.
If you still don't seem to be getting the buff make sure you have actually purchased but the passive and Surprise Attack (silly, I know, but double-check) and try will all add-ons disabled. If you still don't get it try to record a video showing you using the skill and not getting the buffs (again with no-addons) and post a petition or a bug report on the forums.
Edit: Another silly question...you don't have any abilities/sets that grant you Major Ward/Resolve already do you?

What empower are you reffering to? Ambush gives empower, not surprise attack.0 -

✭✭✭✭✭@Reorx_Holybeard yes it is purchased and other skills in the shadow line trigger the ward/resolve. I don't know why that particular skill is not. Let me try again today and see if it's working. I tried it a billion time so yesterday and couldn't get it to work.0 -
