whats everyone complaining about, surley next patch we can all just wear 5 torugs, infused weapons & heavy lightning attack eveything to death on our mag sorcs... you dont need ele drain for that do you

So I looked at it again and found that It was my fault all along, ZOS did nothing wrong here.
That it happened to LUI at the same time was a coincidence then but it lead me on the wrong track

My sincerest apologiest, I'm very sorry for the confusion I caused, but thanks for looking into this!

Hey I'm going to check today, but from the answers I'd suspect that the EVENT_COMBAT_EVENT with the parameter result = ACTION_RESULT_POWER_ENERGIZE is not firing anymore when someone else applied Elemental Drain. This would cause all the addons (like my Combat Metrics) that watch these events to simply not recognize it at all even if it is actually applied. If so I'd consider it an API bug. I probably could make a crude workaround for that, but lets see.

I can confirm this now @ZOS_GinaBruno. The API event isn't showing the tick of regenerating if Elemental Drain is cast by someone else. The Magicka is actually returned though. So I hope this is considered a bug and fixed soon.

Edit: Since this is mostly an API bug I also posted this on the ESOUI forums

They should hire you to supervise ZOS programmers.

Can easily be tested by having a friend using elemental drain, you drain your magicka, you do damage / light attacks to the target, then check combat metrics for minor magickasteal.

Alcast is right though, it seems every update brings back old bugs/lag

I keep getting the impression what is done to fix said problems is done to the actual server, while the original program remains unchanged in the "workshop" so when it goes live, all the fixes have to be reintroduced.

I know nothing of this, just the impression I get

Are all of zos' programmers interns that sign on for 6 months? Would explain these reoccurring bugs. Some new intern accidentally deletes the fix or overwrites it some how.

They really shouldn't. I'm not a trained programmer. I think a trained programmer wouldn't have done my mistake.

Once again: This is just a bug in Combat Metrics.

Edit: I have a fix ready, probably push it out today.

Paid? No one gets paid for Addons. Some get donations.
