Probably some youtube build, I have the set myself as it was recommended half a year ago. Its an overland magic set who works well with an crafted one.
Might work better with the upcoming dlc and patch. who boost set bonuses but nerf sharpened and many proc sets.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

688/219.1= 3.14 and 3.14*.55= 1.72. people are getting a huge hard on for 1.72% crit. Come on.

Mother’s Sorrow: Increased the Spell Critical Strike rating granted by this Item Set to 2470 from 1643.

    2470/219.1=11.27

    1643/219.1= 7.49

    11.27-7.49= 3.78% increase, woopy do.

Julianos and Hunding's Rage has always been the base set for all of my characters. It's pretty much become the default standard gear.

my mag dk has been rocking grothdar, mother's sorrow for awhile now...used it to boost my crit up to 60%...

recently did a gear change from burning spell weave to silks of the sun...

after the patch, need to switch mundus stone from thief to shadow...

funny thing is - with a fairly full team of characters - i stay about six months to a year behind the meta...

spend most my time zoning out and zerg surfing...with a decent build - it's not quite like back in the day when you could fight in your skivies - buy, it doesn't require BiS...

No idea actually. Alcast probably made a build video with it or something and now people are losing their mind.

Deltia use to have the same effect on people. Makes build video on certain gear, prices blow through the roof.

I'm a bit of gear junkie - I've spent way too much time staring at this stuff:

    http://elderscrollsonline.wiki.fextralife.com/Sets

crazy thing is - even though you might be wearing the approved solution - dependant on how you play, is whether it'll work for you...i have sooooooo many "seemed like a good idea at the time" bound gear in the bank...

just didn't feel right, died too easy, couldn't kill any one - didn't like the way it looked :p

    luv me sum new gear...

Nah, crit stays the same but spell dmg can be buffed. With major sorcery you get 359 spell dmg out of Julianos (374 spell dmg with minor+major sorcery).

MS is incredibly strong if you combine it with Torugs and infused weapons. You get very high spell crit which buffs the power of your enchants to insane values, especially with the shadow mundus.

On other builds MS might be good as well but the difference to Julanios is probably a lot smaller.

It's also worth mentioning that with the thief getting nerfed, Shadow became (relatively speaking) stronger & more desirable.

But to go with that you need crit... MS gives you lots of this after being buffed twice.

So it's not just the extra crit from the set being buffed, it's also the mundus changes that play towards it too.

Julianos only really excels in specific circumstances. When your build is split across a destro and resto staff, and has multiple elemental types.

For example, if you're a sorc using an inferno staff and stormcalling, then Julianos. If you're a sorc using a lightning staff and stormcalling, Netch, if you're using your sorc abilities for utility and your main damage is destro abilities, Spider Cultist (sometimes).

Julianos is a nice set to use if you're experimenting with a build though. It's dependable and will always be there. But, there are better options if you're tuning your build.

Julianos is BiS on both DPS classes I play (templar and warden). But yeah, sorc and DK use different gear (not sure about NB).

NB can get good millage out of War Maiden or Spider Cultist. It depends on the build. Wardens also get a lot of utility out of War Maiden, if you're going for an Animal Companion focus to your DPS. That said, Warden is one of the cases where the global buff from Julianos can be pretty appealing. Beyond that, Spinner's and Mother's Sorrow are both very strong contenders for most magicka builds. Spinners for DPS, and Mother's for healers or crit focused DPS. Like Julianos, they're agnostic about damage types or sources, so they can be very useful.

I'm not 100% sure about Templars, weirdly, it's a class I've never managed to stick with. I'd think Silks of the Sun, like DKs, along with something like like BSW. Or alternately Combat Physician + Sorrow for pure hilarity as a healer. But, like I said, I have a hard time staying motivated when I'm playing a Templar, so I've never really gotten into them, and there may be some things I've missed. (For what it's worth I main a NB healer, go figure.)

But, yeah, if you're on a warden, and your mixing between a flame staff, some animal and ice powers, Julianos is probably the way to go. I keep wanting to see someone actually come up with a viable Ysgramor build for them, but I doubt it's really possible.

BSW used to be BiS on templar (I have the full set sitting in my bank). Julianos gets you more DPS after the nerfs to that set though. Templars don't deal enough fire damage to make Silks work.

I have a full War Maiden set for my warden. It's almost identical DPS output to Julianos (Julianos is better by a hair). Julianos let's you go with 5/1/1 though which ultimately gives it the edge.
