What's with being kicked from Cyrodiil when logging off?

In the past, logging off and on while in Cyrodiil didn't move you back to your original pve zone unless your campaign was pop-locked. However ever since the start of the midyear event I'm being removed from Cyro every time I log off, even during off-hours/ on empty campaigs. Is this w.a.d.? Any reason given @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_JessicaFolsom ?

This. Especially when you log back in and get into the server you were on only to see that another faction has total control of the overland map, forcing you to ride to IC all the way from the gates.

I have no clue what you are all talking about. I was in campaigns during the Midyear mayhem event and even yesterday and all the ones without a queue I was not taken out of Cyrodiil. All the campaigns with a queue i was taken out of Cyrodiil because others were waiting to get in. The only time it didn't kick me out was when the game d/ced on me.

My conspiracy theory is aliens that previously if you logged off in Cyrodiil/IC you may still have counted towards the population of your faction. There were frequent times on no-cp Azura's Star where we thought we had two bars of AD but it would be our group of 12 plus maybe 10 pugs running around, with IC the opposite color and only a couple hanging out in gates or at our keeps.

Probably not the case but it makes me wonder.

This exactly, it's even more annoying when I want to put something in the bank from another toon so I relog, but when I'm back I have to queue again and run from DC gate (cause DC sucks at taking keeps) to the sewers gate...

I believe it has something to do with overall Cyrodiil performance. And to prevent campaign overloading. It is annoying especially when in Imperial City, always need to go back in there.

I only noticed this started to happen when the midyear mayhem event started,
I just thort they reduced the timer from when dissconnect to when they kick u to help with the overload of campaign ques

If you crash/force quit in Cyrodiil, it shouldn't kick you out. But it has been doing more so lately. Purposely logging out in a campaign that's got a queue should kick you out, for obvious reasons.

This has always been the case and is not what I'm on about. It's about getting kicked whenever you log off, regardless of campaign population. I'm trying to find out whether they changed it deliberately and why.

Yes! I was wondering the same, why did this start happening all of a sudden? I'm on PC NA though.
