Hey guys I've never played a pure pvp tank and I want to start one, I have a redguard dk that I'm gonna use or maybe my bosmer stamwarden not sure yet.
I watched some YouTube videos with awesome builds but they refuse to share the build so I ask what sets do you guys recommend?
Bastion of the heartland looks like a great choice but I'm noob here so please help me out

Quick question before recommendations. What type of Tank do you want to be in PvP? A Tank that Heals/supports allies, a tank that buffs the team/debuffs enemies, a tank that Chains, Talons and snare the enemies or a tank that can deal damage? Being a damage sponge won't do much in PvP, you need to have a purpose, how do you want to play.

One that can do damage like this https://youtu.be/YVAji54tvA4

I can make a tanky dps build but nothing like that.

Or support for my warden would be nice too but I'm more into the dk build.

For that I would hazard to guess something like Seventh Legion with Warriors Fury. Not sure though. It makes you stronger the more damage you take basically, but something like that video shows only works in CP PvP, cause you need a lot of block cost reduction to be able to block for as long as he did. He was also using the Spell Wall ultimate for a low cost ultimate to help with sustain as well that it blocks and reflects for him. The times in the video when he got kills was either with someone else or when he could reflect things and self heal better than the enemy. The big thing with those 2 sets i mentioned is that their weapon damage increase will help you survive better since it will make your vigor stronger as well as your rally/forward momentum, and while blocking in full heavy with CP passives and blocking mitigation of a sword and shield you can survive a lot of damage, as well he uses absorb magick to heal together with his Vigor and rally to survive better against magicka players.

Again this is just a guess what he is doing, can't know for sure but if you want you can always try and see how you do.

Hmm I've been playing around with those sets before but thats as a tanky dps build, I've never gotten results even close to this.
It's not fury and ww that I know, the only thing I'm sure about is bloodspawn

Probably Blood Spawn / WW Hide / Fury or Seventh Legion. I've run it, it's stupidly tanky but if people feed you damage you can turn around, pop your S&B ult and go full offensive with high weapon damage from your wrath stack + Fury/7th Legion proc.

You have to take these videos with a grain of salt. It's a highlight reel. The groups are not coordinating to burst, and s/he may not be running the same build in all the clips.

I played '' kodi'' build quite a bit and this ist it, it's gotta be some overlooked sets or something.

Well, you can put me in Kodi's exact build and that doesn't mean I play like Kodi. I can also make a highlight reel that makes me look like a pvp goddess. :D

When you see these DK berserker-type builds they are almost always running some variation on this build; heavy armor, high ult generation; tank until you can spank. Often they are orcs for the passives. You can almost always tell by the way they play if they are using the build to it's fullest.

I've tested many (if not all) of the oddball defensive sets -- albeit from a magicka perspective -- and haven't found anything really overwhelming. Many of them have visual cues that I don't see in the video. It's of course possible that these folks are exploiting something that's broken or OP and won't reveal their builds for that reason, but these kinds of exploits don't stay secret for long so I kinda doubt it.

Best of luck theorycrafting. If you haven't found it yet, this page can help a lot: http://en.uesp.net/wiki/Special:EsoBuildEditor

If you go 2h / DW, consider TK and Torug pact with infused weapons. It'll get nerfed in two weeks but if you throw a health glyph on your DW offhand, every 2s you use rending slashes you'll proc that 1.6k heal. This is a vid I made in No CP BGs. If you want to get even tankier, replace my viper with seventh legion, which you can get away with since a lot of the DPS isn't heavily stamina based.

I understand and agree with what you mean but I know for 99% it's a different build but it doesn't matter anymore, I'm starting my own build thingy
I'm trying out some different sets right now to see what feels right to me.

    I can say one thing.

More damage you do, less tank you are.

While watching the video I noticed it seems like he has a weak AoE that hits players ~5 meters of him for a few hundred... do I venture to say embershield? I think I do, pretty unsure about that though but there's a few clues.
1- weak aoe only effects targets that are close by once he heavy attacks. If additional targets move closer, they don't suffer the same aoe damage, same as when effected targets move away they still are taking damage.
2- motifs look pretty similar to daedric 2h and shield (you can get a really good look at the shield when he goes under the bridge into first person for a sec)

I'm pretty sure he's running fury and not 7th legion just because of how he runs right into the fray. 7th legion will proc, this looks like he's anxious to get to max damage. Also if he were to be running 7th legion I believe he should be bursting people down earlier in the fight when the damage procs. Rather than waiting that long.

Max stats seem kinda low at only 26k health 9k mag ~30k stam (for how tanky he is) kinda doubt he's running Tristat glyphs but who knows. Also doubt he's running werewolf hide as his ulticounter seems to never climb by variables of 5.

    My final guess is
    -fury
    -embershield
    -bloodspawn

EDIT-bloodspawn may actually be troll king. Might be rolling with health regen build on further examination. He's not using rally but forward momentum.
