if people dont have access to battle grounds they arent going to b able to complete the event anyway- so does it even matter?
Honestly its the BG match im stuck on. Seems every time i manage to get in, me and my littke group of randoms get steamrolled by a premade lol.

I understand your sentiment here and I am trying to enjoy the event.
The reality is that I suck at PVP and the 50 kill achievement is just reaffirming that I have trouble killing anyone

Exactly where I am. I thought for sure the 50 would be the hardest, I have had no luck in BG. I am not a good PVP'er, but doesn't seem like it should be that hard to get 1 win...

honestly, i personaly found that sieges are useless. those fireballs don't one shot anything, you have to get lucky and hit people who are either already low on health or hit them just after someone else helpfully brought down their health for you. I don't have the achievement yet, but I'm fairly close and vast VAST majority of my kills i got in battlegrounds, with the rest from attacking with my own abilities while storming or defending the keep, rather then using a siege. at this point I just about gave up on using sieges for anything other then destroying walls or enemy siege equipment. they are too slow, too cumbersome and even in non cp campaign don't deal nearly enough damage.
it IS an annoying achievement though.
P.S.. against all expectations... I'm finding keep sieges to be fun. event as in trying to get achievements? not so much. becasue instead of being a good teammate i find myself focusing more on trying to steal kills then anything else.
it ain't the 50 killing blows bugging me...it's the 250k AP...it's not even that it's all that difficult to get - was just a little disappointed when I noticed I need 25 boxes and not just 10...
I did ditch my defensive set though for the event and went all offense to get the kills
You already asked that question in another thread.MercyKilling wrote: »I don't PvP. WON'T PvP. Ever. Mainly because I suck and I'm not going to be an xp pinata for those that are good at it.
So yeah, anything locked behind PvP content is something I'll never experience.
Good for you and hopefully the rest of the PvE community learn from you, because right now they all seem masoquist as hell hahaha. This is a PvP event, don't like PvP, then why bother attempting this in the first place?

I think wrt your Post Script - yeah that kind of goes against the grain for this game. Usually, if you do a sufficient portion of damage in PvE, you get loot, you get xp, you haven't actually robbed anything from anyone else. In PvP, usually if you do damage to another player you will get some AP when they die, as will others who have contributed to the kill. So very little in this game is reliant on getting the killing blow that the mechanic for that as part of a fun event does seem odd. A higher number of kills (killing blows or assists) to get the achievement would have fit in better with the way the rest of the game works. IMO.
However, I think a lot of people already have the achievement now (or have decided it's not for them and are no longer in Cyro), and since in PvP there's no real kill stealing (outside of the event achievement) as you still get AP when a player that you did damage to dies even if you didn't deal the final shot, the likelihood of you actually denying another player something they need is probably fairly slim.

yes and.. not exactly. even if I'm not stealing anything from anyone, i HAVE found myself, becasue its taking me so long to get the kills - to stop what i;m doing the moment I see red and instead focus on trying to get that killing blow. which sometimes means not resurrecting someone, abandoning sieges, etc. it would have been, IMO, as you suggested - MUCH better if it required more deaths, but any death you participated in - counted, rather then killing blows only.

But I've already provided stats that show that DoTs are the most effective way to get kills - cast a DoT then rez, heal, whatever. I can fight and heal and rez, I may be a PvP potato, but I can do more than 1 thing at a time. If you are not usually fighting in between healing and rezzing, you are letting your side down - just throw in some DoTs.
EDIT: I mean seriously, if you even have a *thing* that you usually do in Cyrodil, that means you at least have some PvP experience - this achievement should not have been more difficult for you than it has been for the many complete PvP newbies I have seen get the achievement.

I don't have a thing I usually do in cyrodil, unless hunting for skyshards and fishing counts - before this event, my assault/support were at rank 2 - rank you get for turning in introductory quest, and my dots don't seem to hit hard enough to tick at just the right moment. so yes, its taking me a long, laborious time to get those kills. especially in Cyrodil, from MY experience, I got 2/3 of my kills in battlegrounds and if I were to wager a guess? it was due to competing with fewer people for that killing blow. I started joining siege groups running around becasue that is what was repeatedly suggested that i should do if i wanted to get caltrops etc. what i'm saying is - your stats on a single character - do NOT match my stats. you were playing on a templar. I'm playing in a stamblade. and i'm NOT a ganker, so I'm not really set up for burst.

I'm not set up for PvP full stop, if you want the achievement you have to put in some effort and maybe adjust your usual playstyle. If that is not for you, accept that this holiday event is for PvPers and don't do it - PvEers get the rest of the holiday events, a lot of PvPers don't want to do those either and miss out on those rewards.

Cool. Scroll back up and read what I said in post #73 of this thread. So what are we arguing about exactly? I've already agreed with you on principle, I just can't abide the huge amount of moaning (not from you specifically, but in general!) about this event - a load of people with a lot of different builds that I know got this achievement this week (some of them in 2 days then had to wait for the BG achieve to be fixed - people who usually play tanks and healers, people who play DKs and Sorcs and NBs and Templars, and both mag and stam builds) despite having never done PvP before. I suggest keep trying, I'll be cheering you on to get those killsGood luck!
