Becouse cloaks breakes after 3 seconds, you need to spend time and magicka to recast it, if you get this ultimate tho, you use a zone of haven where you can: damage, get damage resistance and infinite cloak. Of course since its radius is little, won't be op nor overperforming.

You know you're used to your class getting hated on when you see this thread title and assume it's yet another nerf thread about another nightblade skill that's doing alright. Leave us alone! Go hit sorcs or something! XD But seriously, this ultimate, while not usually chosen over veil of blades since veil does damage, is pretty useful. I wouldn't mind it getting buffed since it is pretty expensive, but at the same time it's a 60% damage mit so it makes sense that it's 1)expensive and 2)stationary. Could you imagine it being cheap like the resto ult and nightblades everywhere getting a 60% damage reduction every 30 seconds? That's almost a mist form-level damage mit; from the perspective of using it I would love it. From the perspective of fighting somebody using it, I would hate it.

Well while its not super common, Nightblade Tanks actually use the bolstering darkness morph and DPS's use the other in PvE when needed. And your suggestion is utterly useless for the purpose you described. Non mobile ultimates have very very limited use in PvP, and a non mobile major protection is even worse now that wardens has a mobile one and Nova still beats it cause you would throw it at the enemy rather than yourself, causing them to spread rather than yourself to stack up. Stacking up in PvP can be good at times but other times it could be hazardous. Also please don't suggest changes like this to a class you don't even play. The ultimate has its uses in PvE and non mobile fights, leave it alone.

Heck no, this is a great tanking ult. It's especially useful in fights where a lot of the damage is from something other than the boss.

I always have it slotted in CoS: when the statue is doing its thing and 2-3 group members are down, the resist lets me or a group mate get in a res without dying to the flames.

Ummmm great for tanks? I don't use it often when tanking, but when in a pug or very hard trial, this is a great ultimate to use. Technically a great ultimate to pair with bombing too
