Looking like a corpse is one thing, but this doesn't look like a corpse. Dying doesn't completely remove all pigment.
Stage 1 still has a little pigmentation.

I'd be fine with them removing the purple eye rings, but I like my pasty skin and red eyes. As far as the toggle option goes, if they gave people the option to turn that stuff off, it would only further encourage people becoming vampires solely for the passives.

I'd be fine with even stage 2...got the full red eyes going and pretty pale....everything after that is just piling on the ugly.
Stage 4 all the way. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

It's the only reason why my characters aren't vampires.

What's the point of making your character look sexy during character creation if they're just going to look like syphilitic meth addicts with vampirism?

It's lore breaking too. Vampires are supposed to be seductive. A victim isn't going to want to go home with someone that looks like a walking disease.

Are we talking TES lore, or the romantic lore that WE created via mass media?

Pale people don't look like that. Dead people don't look like that. Vampire skintone in this game more closely resembles marshmallow pink than anything else. Plus those veins around the eyes, clear (and lame) inspiration taken directly from Vampire Diaries.

Vampires are not the only monsters in the game. I have a sweet, innocent looking little Breton that will kill eight or nine people just because they are near a backpack she wants to look into. And watch out if you are between her and a pretty flower she wants to pick! She always told the truth though on all the quests if she could so I guess she has that going for her.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Speak for yourself, mister. My character looked even cuter after becoming a pyre.

The only Elder Scrolls vampire I can recall being seductive is Alva, and that's a different strain of vampirism. In other media, they also use hypnosis to seduce prey. It's not always beauty.

Vampirism prevents me from spending crowns on cosmetics for my character that don't show up/look right with the white skin. The eyes are just terrible too, so I use the oracle eyes cosmetic. Stage 3 and 4 is just not enjoyable to look at.

I'd like to remind you that this is a game and other people besides you put countless hours into their characters. They should be able to make those characters look however they want.

Besides, it doesn't mean much if you "look like a walking corpse" when there are walking corpses literally everywhere you go.

You can make them look however you want. Being a vampire is an optional cosmetic change. I mean honestly, it's like becoming a werewolf and complaining that you're naked in the form.

I can understand some people's gripes with the later stages of vampirism and could get behind a few cosmetic changes. I also understand the issue with the body markings; that needs to be fixed. However, we certainly shouldn't have a toggle that removes all physical vampire features. That's pointless. You might as well just not be one. Again, we don't need an increase of people choosing to become vampires solely for the passives.

I sorta feel like people who are vampires have more invested in how their character looks than you have invested in how their character looks, since they are the ones who spend the time playing their character, and you don't spend any time playing theirs.

People should be able to look however they want and should not be forced into a specific, agreeably extremely ugly cosmetic choice because they want some stat bonuses. People who want to look like vampires can look like them, and people who don't.. well, won't.

I don't really have a problem with the vampire face but I do with the skin color. While it is possible to cover our face, it is really hard to hide our albinism. I made a redguard nightblade that just became a vampire recently and to be honest, it looks like The Mountain in GoT more than anything else.

I would be very happy with my normal skin color and vampire face/eyes.

I disagree with the premise of the post, I enjoy the way vampires look in-game. If you don't want to look monstrous then feed. There is nothing at all wrong with Stage I appearance, outside of the tattoo issue which bothers some.

I personally utilize the various stages depending on what I'm doing or how I feel, and I believe things are fine since they increased the stage timer. If I want to downstage in a dungeon then I drink a Bloody Mara, or use mist form to stage-up.

People need to stop with wanting all the passives without the major change in appearance. That's how this strain of vampirism works. Vampire since release on all toons. My new Warden will be my first Werewolf.

See, but you're still missing the point. You're not "forced" into anything. Vampires aren't in the game for you to get your free stat bonuses. If you want to look like the beautiful character you spent hours creating, then stay the beautiful character you spent hours creating. Vampirism is a curse. It's not meant to be ideal and it's not meant to be a boon. It's a double-edged sword.

So, since this is never happening if ZOS has any sense at all, people that want to look like vampires will become vampires and people that don't won't. That's how it is and how it should stay.

Fair point. I'm still against it. Disguises are one thing, as no one wants to wear those ugly, bland things permanently. It doesn't encourage "statpires" as I will now call them. And I'd hope ZOS would recognize that. Players shouldn't be able to just ignore the "curse" part of the form.

IMO the look needs to stay. Everyone runs vamp for the bonus' and there should be some consequences to that added power. Why should someone gain perks and still get to look normal? I choose not to be a vampire due to the look (and it doesn't fit my characters lore). If you chose vampire, you knew the price..

I don't know if its been said, but "equipped" costumes such as the ones you get from Quests will revert to your original skin, the problem however is you have to look at that ugly costume to stay clean; Tamriel problems.
