QoL: Motif / Patterns+Recipes / Traits = Account wide?

Since we basically earned everything I really do wish they would just become account wide like most games have them.

Yes please to motifs, recipes and patterns. these are way too much of a time sink to collect on all your characters and thus only promote crafting on a single character and not doing anything on all your other characters (bonus points if for patterns the skills of multiple characters can be combined). And while I would also like to see traits be account wide, this will probably never happen since they are planning of selling accelerated research scrolls in the crown store/crown crates.

Plus, so many Motifs are sold in the crown store now, is it really right for them to be restricted to one character, when that character can be deleted? You could lose a considerable amount of money or be forced to keep a character you don't want.

If you buy something from the crown store that costs as much as a premium mount, it's not out of the question to expect it to be permanently yours.

A while back there was an interesting discussion about summoning alts / twinks as companions just like the merchant and banker right now.

During that discussion a few features for such a mechanic came up. These I liked the most:

    - direct access to inventory and no need to use the bank to transfer items
    - access to all crafting skills, passives, traits and motifs of the summoned alt / twink when accessing the crafting station

It's a little bit more inconvenient than having everything account wide, but I think it would feel a lot nicer and the direct inventory access would be nice too.

Oh for the love of Azura...

No, no and no. Didn't the poll that you started on June the 8th on the same subject answer this question for you? Or any other of the threads that you started on the same subject...

... such as the one that you started on January 18th...

... or yet another one that you started on December 27th...

[EDIT: There may have been more. I just picked the ones out of my own post history that occurred in the last 8 months or so.]

We get it. You want this. You do not need to remind us of the fact every couple of months.

This subject doesn't keep coming up because it has broad appeal. It keeps coming up because you keep starting threads on it.

Here's a question: Will you ever stop starting threads on this subject even if ZOS state categorically that they won't ever do it?

    No.

A valuable thing about an RPG is independent character development. ZOS has already chipped away at that with mail , bank, and mounts, by making them account level items. CP are also account level. Soon, AP and writ vouchers will move to be more account level.

We need to be thinking about retaining character level development, not making more account level.

To be honest, the poll you linked is about 50/50, with the people being against it either saying " doesnt effect me thus no" or "I did is thus so should you" and mostly saying no because of traits, not motifs.

And an aspect of an MMO is having multiple characters and switching on the go depending on the role that is required for the group. This is being done well with shared cp, but making alts crafters is being unnecessarily punished due to motifs not being shared, thus promoting not even developing crafting on alternate characters which limits the development of individual characters by giving the feeling it is lost effort to learn them on multiple characters (and why shouldn't your main crafter nor just teach the styles to other characters if you want an RPG motivation).

The point was that the same person has been starting the same thread for months, not what the precise outcome of the poll was.

Hopefully @lordrichter will forgive me for adding my two-penneth to your response to their post...

Its only a lost effort to develop crafting on multiple characters if you think is.

As for why my main crafter doesn't teach what he knows to my other characters? Because some of them are people that he has never actually met.

Wouldn't making them account wide give more incentive to people to actually spend more crowns and keep the economy going in game cause from the looks of it the motifs / patterns are the slowest moving items in game right now just because they're character wide to most people.

Also I bet even the richest of rich in ESO will never spend that much on multiple characters multiple times, that's nearly 100m+ total from motifs + patterns / recipes based on current pricing per character.

No reason to be concerned it will happen.

Certainly not much do a reason to think it would increase crown sales. Oh my, I can craft this on any character now so let's buy the motif with crowns vs in game gold.
