I don't normally PUG, but when I do it is usually to help out new players/lower levels with getting a good dungeon experience, and that has been fine, not much different to how it always has been.

I pug all the time daily over 1.5 years now, but lately 95% of the dps are all doing ridiculously low amount of damage, 1-3k dps, healer doesn't heal, tank doesn't taunt.
    Anyone experienced the same?
Watching cp49 dps that doesn't use any ability and only, I mean only do lightning staff heavy attack throughout the whole vet dungeon, taking forever. The other cp550 dps only do jabs and nothing else, and the jabbing doesn't seem to move the health bar of the mob.
How can they play this bad I really don't understand.

Ikr, I really don't know if I should leave immediately for those groups or kick them anymore, it's just everywhere.

Honestly, I understand this complaint. Not from dungeon woes though, I was waiting around at Cambray Hills Dolmen in Glenumbra a couple of nights back on a newish character, wanting to gain some FG xp in a fairly chilled and relaxed way. The werewolf world boss (with the 3 werewolves) is within sight of the Dolmen, so people kind of run back and forth between the 2.

At one point I joined in for the world boss fight, and there was someone there shooting an ice staff at them, aggroing them, getting low on health, and running away to the point where the bosses kept resetting with full health - I gave up in the end, there is only so much patience that I possess.

IMHO it's gotten worse. It seems that now there are more dps that that don't know how to dps. I'm more frequently coming across dps who spam light-attacks while standing in red circles.

I only pug random normals, and even then it's a toss up. Sometimes you get groups that can blow right through a dungeon, and other times you get people who know neither how to play their role or the dungeon mechanics.

It's been pretty terrible. Tried pugging vWGT last night, and got to inhibitor. Other DPS couldn't close portals (that's right, the DPS). Nobody knew mechanics so I had to type them in chat (multiple times) since nobody was in voice chat (zone or group).

Went through 3 other DPS, 4 tanks, and 2 healers I was on my mag sorc, and had to slot streak just so I could solo the blue phase and revive everyone when the boss comes out of that phase. I tried to be patient (2 hours), but finally had enough.

I've ran all the "tougher" dungeons with a PUG more recently, and they have all been pretty terrible experiences to say the least. There is hope though, got in a decent group with a healer and tank for vRoM 2 days ago. We ended up cycling through like 3 other DPS's on the last boss but managed to finish it. The ones that came and went would run to us and then read the scroll like it was some kind of lore book XD

Also managed to walk a group through their first ever vCoS completion yesterday with only a single wipe (1st Velidreth attempt).

All in all its been terrible on the tougher content, and the only reason I still do it is if I really don't care if we complete it or not and am just looking to kill some stuff. That one time you get a decent PUG feels so much better after 10 failed groups, and 40 wipes.

About the same as it has always been. I use GF some for random dungeons for the heck of it. Usually clear, but sometimes faster than other times.

    Don't pug
    I only PUG random normals.

Today, I did 10x random normals (long story). Each time, I queued with both the tank and DPS roles selected. If I'm queued in as a tank, I'll simply replace Inner Light on my back bar with Inner Fire for taunt. I will keep the same DPS gear and bars that I normally use. (And before you all jump on me for being a "fake" tank, I do hold aggro on key targets, I do position things, I do hold things steady, and I do know how to stay alive--I also have a dedicated tank character that has cleared every vet trial, so I kinda know what to do.)
    1. In 9 of 10 random normals, the Group Finder placed me in as the "tank".
    2. In 8 of the random normals, I was doing a very high portion of the group's DPS. That is, 66% or more of the total DPS. Despite holding aggro and stopping to block or shield. That means that, as a "tank", I was doing at least twice what the other two DPS did combined, if not more.
      • The other two random normals had competent DPS, and one of those runs even had someone with the Mageslayer title. That was by far the most experienced of the 10 random groups that I had gotten. But that's just 2 of 10 where the DPS wasn't a complete disaster.
    3. In 3 of the random normals, I was placed into the group mid-run, to rescue groups that had gotten stuck.
      • One group was stuck at Planar in nWGT. As a "tank", I did almost 70% of the DPS, which meant that I had effectively tripled their DPS output which allowed them to almost skip the "blue" phase.
      • One group was stuck on the Overfiend in nICP. For Overfiend, I actually swapped to heavy armor with sword-and-board because the Overfiend hits hard and it's a pretty block-intensive fight. Despite doing that fight in tank gear instead of DPS gear, I still did 50% of the total DPS. Overfiend, even on normal, can wipe groups if their tank is bad. I've been in nICP pugs (as a DPS) where tanks run out of stam, can't hold aggro, or turns the cleave into the DPS.
      • One group was stuck in Fungal Grotto II on the boss with the chainers. They didn't know to break the tether and lacked the DPS to free whoever was chained.
    4. In one of the runs, I tanked the Flesh Abomination in heavy armor sword-and-board (it's one of the few fights that I don't feel comfortable tanking in my DPS setup). And despite being in tank gear, I still did 76.9% of the total group DPS. See the total group DPS in this screenshot?
      Screenshot_20170716_081304.png

And mind you, these are normal dungeons. These are dungeons that I can easily solo (with the exception of a few boss mechanics that require two people). And yet there are groups that struggle even with them. Like not being able to DPS through the chainers in Fungal Grotto II. On normal. And it's not even a DLC dungeon.

So the state of PUGing is very dismal. It's not a problem that affects me because by queuing as a DPS "tank", I can carry a group through (and often end up doing exactly that), but just imagine if I had queued using my real trials tank that has zero DPS capacity. Or imagine if someone else had been in my place instead. Wiping away on nFG2. Oh yea.

    Good
Pretty good so far. I don't give up easy. Cp 500 here and still learning the game. I only play healer or tank so my issues are different.

My favorite times are when a snooty dps quits the team after the second wipe and we finally clear it without them (it happened with the 4 direction dodging boss before Nerienth and the Planar Inhibitor). My favorite was the dps who was disgusted that I, the tank, couldn't live through being chased down by blue phase Planar... like the whole reason why we are in a small room is to ping pong her back and forth between us, taking turns closing the pinion, not let her chase someone down and stun them. I don't think he ever closed the pinion in his life because he couldn't believe I was getting slowed and stunned. He was probably used to being carried by better dps who burn her down so fast that he never had to learn the mechanics. Even the lvl 20 in lvl8 armor we had in the group was better.

The boss before Veli, Dranos Velandor, is really the true test of a team though. As the tank I'm always pinned down by his twin ghosts and getting a team to bash them in a reasonable time frame so I can sprint or dodge out of the way is the hardest thing to coordinate. If they pop the twins right away, no problem. Sometimes they'll leave me pinned for right up to the last second and dodging out of that takes a reflex that I just don't have. Or they'll kill his orange clones from a distance and don't collect the red essences. All that is fixable though, with a little communication and Kagrenac's fast Rez time one can bring any group back from the brink lol. Except when dps doesn't Rez. There's no saving a group if the dps doesn't rez each other. (I had to pass out soul gems, food and repair kits in Cradle of Shadows as a healer... unbelievably someone was "saving" theirs like lol? This is the time to use them)

Mostly I'm just glad I have a weird build that is meant for correcting pug mistakes. I've run with so many "healers" that seem to have 1 heal and no resources. I can tell when the whole group flocks to my Rkugamz spider like their life depended on it (cause it does).

Most importantly I know that I'm NOT the best, the elite, the most experienced, the fastest, whatever. So I have oodles of patience for pugs as long as they have patience for me. People who rage quit normal dungeons just want to be carried imho. As far as vets go, if I pug a vet then I get what I get, that's on me to choose that kind of torture lol
