Message to ZOS. Wonderful, yet simple idea. Urge you to read this!

Hello everyone. Please have a look at this idea which I believe is mandatory given the versatile nature of ESO, compared to other MMOs. By versatile I refer to the fact that your class does not constrain you to follow its standards and allows you to experience various unconventional to the class playstyles.

For the sake of making it easier let’s call the feature “Gear and Skill Manager”.

The idea is around having multiple skills and gear slots, that allow you to switch in between them. Each such slot, would have its skills and gear sets saved as you managed it prior to saving the slot. This would allow you to change both skills and equipment by choosing the appropriate slot you have saved to suit your playstyle. I have two characters and 12 sets which I always mix with particular skills, depending on which playstyle I want to play. In such sense I do not constantly run certain combinations of skills and gear sets, but always change it in PVE and PVP.

Examples:
I have my MagSorc which I mostly play with. Now, my playstyle always differs depending on what I do.
For vma, I run specific skills and gear sets that I would never use in PVP.
Sometimes I run a pet healer build and thus have to change all of the 12 skills in the game + put on different gear appropriate for healer
I even decide occasionally that I want to tank, thus again, change my gear set up & skills, to be able to tank (normal dungeons, don’t rage)

I have also farmed 6 sets for my Stamplar that I always change depending on what playstyle I want to play in PVP or PVE. (Viper / Leviathan / Hulking Draugr / Bone pirate / Spriggan’s / Morkuldin, for those interested)
It’s the same for my MagSorc, I run multiple PVP and PVE set ups and change in between them constantly, thus putting on different skills appropriate to my playstyle

Now people might say that it takes 2/3 min to change it all you are talking about. But my answer would be simple why not making it even more easier and convenient? I do these changes so often that it starts to bother me to constantly change the skills and the gear.

I should also note that this would be extremely useful to those who do not have multiple characters, like me. I have only my MagSorc and StamPlar.
I do not have StamDKs and MagTemplars to tank and heal
I do not have NB for sneaky playstyle or Warden Archer
Consequently, I try to compensate these playstyles by constantly experimenting with my Stamplar or Magsorc
Even besides that, I simply like to test out things and run multiple sets ups (different PVE/PVP playstyles) with my existing characters
By set ups I mean a certain combination of skills & gear sets

I am quite passionate about the game and though of making this suggestion to make players’ comfort even more convenient. I would so love to see this change implemented with the next 15th Horns of the Reach update.

Given the more dynamic nature of ESO, allowing you to do interesting mixes with one character, I believe that this feature would be particularly impactful for ESO.
The fact that your class does not restrict you from acquiring skills from other sources (other than class skill trees) allows you to experience a very dynamic experience with mixing playstyles. Consequently, you always want to try out new skill and equipment combinations which can be made more convenient if such feature would exist

I guess this would be relevant to consoles only as we do not have the appropriate addons

Thanks for reading this

As another pointed out PC has addons for such things.

More importantly, your suggestion is not simple as it requires Zos to build a new system and UI. That like whatever system your speaking of in WoW, it would have a full UI rather than the simplistic nature of the addons we have.

Zos also ditched a more common type of UI typical of modern MMORPGs in favor of more simplistic designs.

I will not argue over the complexity of implementation as I do not have the knowledge. But the reasoning is that one part of the ESO community have a feature that we (console players) do not have. The feature itself is just so useful that it is quite unfair for the PC users to have it, while console players have to struggle with it. Do you have any idea if ZOS has even considered making this feature?
There are a lot of loyal console players who want to make this game better and it disappoints me that many features of the game are dismissed due to the platform on which you play the game
I really hope they consider it worthy enough to implement it for console users.

Console needs a lot of things that Pc has and ya I remember the system you are talking about. Came put around liche king. Anything, to make redundant tasks be less of a stage 20 time vampire so you can actually spend more time actually playing the game.

Sorry OP, but I got as far as "when I used to play World of Warcraft" and stopped there. I do play WoW and enjoy it, but it has precisely zero relevance to this game. If you want to lobby for a feature then by all means do, but leave other games out of your justification for it. Let it stand on its own two feet with particular relevance to ESO.

I have to disagree with you. This was a simple example that I mentioned just for the sake of helping me to explain what exactly I am talking about, by giving an example of a game that has it.
I did not compare the two games and did not attempt to convey any underlying message.

I see no reason of why you had to stop reading the post. Nonsense

I am sorry, but I find such comments to have 0 value. What was the point of saying what you said? If I am wrong, please explain why I should have not mentioned WOW in this specific case, if it was again, for the sake of helping me to explain what is the exact feature I am trying to explain.

PC users have a lot of things console does not. These are not features of the game but played made add-ons.

It's am certainly not suggesting I don't want consoles to have such tools available to them but that many things aren't as simple as they seem. Even the add-one we use for our gear and skill management dveloped over time to offer the refinements we now have.

Because this is not WoW, and if there's a feature worth adding to this game then it can surely be explained by reference to this game. Introducing other games into discussions of ESO invariably leads to adverse comments and moderation and is best avoided in my opinion - however, that's just my opinion and you are perfectly free to phrase your topics as you wish, just don't expect everyone to read them if you preface them with such comments as "when I used to play World of Warcraft".

Well, I still seem not to understand how my reference to WOW might have changed people's attitude towards this specific suggestion I made, but I'll remove the reference, so not to upset people. Anyways, thanks for sharing your opinion

something like this was introduced on diablo 3, "Armoury" where you can save 5 loadouts and switch between them, great idea and for me would make things a whole lot easier.

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

All I would like to see is a simple QoL improvement, at present if I run DW and Bow then switch out my Bow for a 2 hander or Sword and Board I would expect the system to remember my last 2 hander or Sword and Board set-up without me having to replace all my skills again. I would expect that to have been a "given" when planning out the UI in development.

Not too fussy about armour and jewels as I don't mind changing them manualy but of course a load out manager of sorts would be a great improvement.
