so Quesiton - i am a quester so i have never engaged in any dungeons in ESO so far - now i want to get into some dungeons cause i need to farm a set...the problem is even with queing i hardly ever seem to find people to do normal dungeons with...are there just hardly any people for dungeons or is everyone doing veteran dungeons?

Because of that i went in and did dark shade caverns 1 alone, it wasn't that diffcult to solo tbh...do you think if i can solo the dungeon alone on normal that i could engage into group veteran dungeoneering? Cause i am by no means a min maxer and i dont want to "optimize or get kicked"...?

You can do a group vet dungeon. I play with low levels all the time and it works.

Just try for it, it'll probably work out well

You don't need an optimized build or gear for veteran dungeons. Even for DLC dungeons, it's more about following directions/knowing strats than optimized builds.

I'm in the same spot as you!

Here's a good thread on this topic.

Join some guilds, there are always people looking to run dungeons and a lot of guilds have group guild events which are fun... you'll get to do things you would never do on your own.

If I'm grinding for gear, I'll just solo the dungeon on normal. Sure, it takes a bit longer, but I don't have to wait for a group to form (which could take up to an hour). I usually just group for vet dungeons if I need purple jewelry.

"Everyone" is joining guilds (the better ones), and grouping up with guildies and doing vet Trials (undaunted).
See it in guild chat every week. Also some doing VMA, mostly farming for BiS (they sell really well if they're the right trait for the right piece - high prices - too).
Other than that, ppl joining PUG constantly going around Ali'kir Desert doing Dolomens.
To do a dungeon I ask my guildies, sometimes I can get a party of 4 going (I have friends).

grinding decent trait gear to collect 2 bopu sets together is a real piece of work

I also saw that you could trade items with your group members but no one seems to be interested to do that?

That's because most people are after the same gear and others would rather decon the gear they don't need for the mats than give it to someone else.

Do pledges. Finding people for non pledge dungeons can be quite challenging. Though if the set you want to farm is a popular one you could try calling out in zchat - "lf X people to farm set N with".

Edit: And yes, you can trade with your groupmates for a few hours. Usually people mention it at the start of the run - "looking for Netch's Touch shoes divines please" or something along these lines.

is it just me or does this group finder tool not work half the time? half the time i try to accept nothing happens and i get kicked out of the queue - this basically doubles the 20 minute wait time - its insanely annoying

zonechat or guild chat: LFG .... (dungeon name), DPS (or tank or healer - your role), CP.... (your cps)

you find very easy, also for normal dungeons

    LFG means "looking for group"

I'm guessing you're listed as dps. Everyone is dps so it takes forever. I now gear up as healer or tank and que times are extremely short.

You have to optimize or get kicked pretty much. There is no middle ground. If you aren't sporting the min/max meta you will be kicked.

for normal dungeons i don't think you even need a tank or healer no? I mean i soloed these dungeons as dps without problems (just takes much longer)

That's just silly. Min/max meta only in the groupfinder, yeah right...

Uhhhh yes and no, you can definitely do them without support roles but if you're using groupfinder it won't put together a group until it can find 2 dps, a tank and a healer. If you're getting a group with friends/guildies/zchat, it's whatever you guys agree on. Tanks and healers also do come in handy with very new/inexperienced players or/and dlc dungeons. On bright side due to normals being so easy you could easily enough tank or heal them as a dps - just do slot taunt if you queue as a tank and do grab a resto staff if queueing for healer. It's generally considered rude to be completely unable to perform the role you queued as even if the dungeon can technically be done without it.

What's funny is they would rather decon a great piece I need then give it to me. And id probably give them 100 elegant lining if it was something I was desperate for!

You run the risk of getting kicked if your CP is low whether you are optimized or not. So be prepared for that if you queue up for vet dungeons. Because there are a lot of ________ out there who will vote to kick you - even on the easier veteran dungeons.

I got so fed up with it today in fact (tanks constantly coming in and then leaving when I refused to kick the low cp guy) that I just went forward and tanked the damn place myself.

Now if it was City of Ash II or Dark Shade II.... alright, I can kind of understand the resistance since those dungeons have demanding dps checks that will make it difficult for a low CP character. But Blessed Crucible.... really? That dungeon is not that hard yet probably a half dozen tanks refused to even attempt it while a low CP player was there. It's just stupid.

Yes or make an healer / tank build, for normal dungeons it don't require much as in crafted gear and some blue jewelry.
If you are after an set, start with an junk trait set and ask for better pieces be free to offer other parts to team.

Add that the dungeon finder is better now but might freak out if healer / tank and more than 5 minute wait exit and queue again. But yes an guild run is more fun and have an higher success rate.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Pretty much this, for normal dungeons you don't need to be optimized in any way, you might want to run some dolmen zergs to level up tank or healing skills. Exception is the DLC normals here you should not be totally noob.

The problem is not mediocre tanks and healers in normal dungeons its healers without healing staff or tanks without taunts.
In veteran dungeons its tanks and healers who has not learned in the normal ones.
Also remember veteran wayrest sewer is easier than nROM.

LOL, I leveled up an templar as I thought sorcerer was to had to play, end up that sorcerers do decent dps but templar healer works much better in dungeons.
Was the same in WOW, healer for fast queue. Tanks works better but require more knowledge and don't fit me so well.
