✭✭Seriously i tried to focus on this skill and all i could kill were newbs. It's so easy to counter, block, heal. It's very weak
Imho, the trick is to put a least 2 dots before Sould strike

If I as a mag sorc with 10k stamina in CP can block it with nothing but a shield in my hands and not run out of stamina, a stamina-dedicated character with 30-35k should have absolutely no problem. ✭✭If you're a stamblade block for Vigor + Block for 2 seconds then just Cloak... I only die to this skill when I have a few people on me and taking pressure outside of Soul Assault. And for some reason a lot of people slot it now, I got a triple beam to my face the other day, was pretty funny, there's not much you can do if you weren't at full health at the time of the Soul Assault.@ Izaki #PCEU

Bashing interrupts Soul Assault as well as line of sight. Also force surge the destro spell that interrupts stops it. Also, you can block it, fear the person using it. There probably are other ways, but that's just a list off the top of my head.

Also, the 99k Recap is not accurate.... some time ago we learned the recap incorporates damage done during healing... so the 99k tick means he healed/blocked/mitigated about 70k of damage and then got hit with about 25k damage as the final blow. Don't go by the recaps until zos addresses this in 2020.

If you don't meet one of the above criteria, then you're in a squishy burst setup, or have no idea what you're doing, and yes, you're going to die to a SA. You're also going to die to a quality Destro Ultimate, and probably a lot of other stuff.0 -

It is very strong, mine is I think 65k tooltip, but thats over 3.5 seconds or so, and in that time frame you can heal, or los it. Also in pvp thats a 50% damage nerf, so 35k in 3.5seconds. 2. Heavy, not everyone wheres it.
3. Again even without procs sets your forced to block on a medium build in order to survive it.
4. E.g. Magicka sorc/nb/warden
5. Hope your conviently next to some line of sight, as it 3m of it because your not going anywhere with a 70% snare and blocking.
6. Hope your a nb, still take 2s of it.
7. Out damage and don't get melted by the 80k tooltip SA, hope your next to them when they cast it, hope your don't immediately die when you let go of block.
So you've got to be magicka for properaly mitigate it.
If your stamina and not s&b you lose 20k~ stamina.
If your medium your gonna get melted
Your forced to stand still for 4s which usually means your gonna die.
If you do survive it your gonna be on very low resources.
Change the ticks from 8 to 4.

1. Wrong. Your numbers are way off.
2. You should if you keep dying to SA.
3. Wrong again. High weapon damage vigor ticks + Rally are insane. Why are you holding block against SA at full health?
4. Yep. Shield spam works, but drains the hell out of your magicka, just like your stamina. That's how the game works.
5. You shouldn't be relying on LoS as your only method of mitigating damage.
6. Good nightblades have no problem getting out of soul assault.
7. I've ran high damage and tanky SA builds and still been nearly outbursted by decent medium burst character. High quality players force me to cancel the SA.
It sounds like you've died a lot to this skill, but never actually used it.
My suggestion: go make an SA build, try it out.
