You can break los on it. I also have good results rolling or sprinting backwards to get out of its max range, or just block healing through it. It's one of the ults that rarely makes an appearance on my death recaps.

SA is actually a relatively weak skill. It's only really dangerous if you're within execute range, because it ticks so fast . Similar to how you can receive a 10k radiant in .5 seconds to instantly finish you off. But if you cast it while they are full or around half, it will barely do anything.
I don't think this skill would be any good if they reduced the number of ticks. If they went that route I would much prefer it to be just a single blast of damage.
