Just because a game is rated M doesn't mean you have to act like a 13 year old seeing their first R rated movie. I would also say that someone not wanting to see vulgarity in a username doesn't necessarily make them sheltered...just mature enough to have outgrown Beavis and Butthead

Let us apply logic to this situation:

    - ZOS maintains multiple servers with hundreds of thousands (if not million+) players.
    - ZOS pays their employees a wage/salary, which supports the employees families.
    - ZOS upkeeps the integrity of the community it created by removing undesirable names, actions, etc. that a majority do not want to be part of a community they pay to participate in.

The conclusion: ZOS won't take a chance of going out of business/losing employees by letting their community become a billboard for immature thinking.

I went to a raging punk rock party on Saturday with several bands playing and a lot of more or less intoxicated people generally having fun.

I did not hear a single "fart joke" or someone giggling to the word "foreskin" all night.

Neither of those are required to "have fun" at a party ...

This is honestly a GOAT forum thread. Dude is raging because ZOS changed his name to "FancyKale." I'm cracking up.

+1 to that man! Totally agree...the only thing left to do is to try and farm insightfuls *wink -wink* while eating popcorn and reading people go back and forth on the merits of letting someone call themselves Foreskin. Yup must be a slow day at the farm.

I literally would rather eat foreskin than kale

"...not that there's anything wrong with that!"

    Nice Seinfeld reference.

What's funny is, I watched the show, maybe, twice when it was originally on the air. When I went back to college, I had a professor in Media Analysis that used a couple episodes as an example of how popular media can affect social norms over extended periods of time.

I, personally, love the show. Never gets old. Wish there was something close to this in humor on tv nowadays.

Btw, it's not even my name - I'm just agreeing OP has a point.
Not going to lie - I have what I guess you could call "traditional" names for my RPG characters except for the 1 - and it's a funny name that people whisper me saying it made them laugh when they saw it. It's a ridiculous name on a ridiculous looking character because I made that one for fun and laughs. Yeah it's stupid and childish - but it's just for fun. If it offends someone - then they need to grow up - not me.

So wait, is it your name and you're actually the same guy or do you also have a character with a juvenile name that you're attached to because it makes people laugh?

Not attached to the name - if it was gone tomorrow that's whatever - as others have said ZOS has their ToS and it's their product and reserve the right to change it and even refuse their service to anyone for any reason.

I'm just agreeing with the OP because this is an on going hypocrisy with companies. So many games that have blood, heads exploding, murder, and everything else that makes them fun (just being honest - loved Gears of War for those exploding pumpkin head sounds) ban and rename people because something might be considered vulgar. It's ridiculous. I would even venture to guess most people on this forum aren't even old enough to purchase this game without a parent or friend doing it for them - yet that's ok with ZOS I'm sure, but this guy's name somehow offends people so it's gone.

Yeah it's a stupid an immature name, and so is the one on one of my characters, but it's the one he wanted cause he/she used it in other MMOs. There's nothing offensive about it.

Or just snowflakes that have no sense of humor and can't take a joke. Video games are entertainment - not something that's suppose to be taken seriously. Life is serious enough - video games are an escape for some to just have fun no matter how ridiculous some of you find it.

I have to say me being called a snowflake is hysterical ...I didn't think I could get a bigger laugh than OP being proud of his username...but you proved me wrong. So thanks for that

Someone that thinks you have to take a video game serious and have to police everyone in an adult rated game "cause of maturity " is 100% a snowflake in my book.

I never called you one though in that post, so thanks for doing so for me.

But... it's not that it isn't funny because it's vulgar, it's just not funny. I'm more offended by that than anything. If something is legitimately funny it'd likely get a pass, even if it is offensive.

Whether people are entitled to feel offended is neither here nor there, the name is cheap and vulgar and indicates a low level of maturity - hence the developers are perfectly entitled to enforce the TOS and change it.

Agreed. Perhaps better than describing a private body part, whether in real or character based it falls under the realm of, 'TMI". Someone mentioned the M rating of the game, hence for adults. However, I think that some would consider the usage of this name as rather juvenile.
