If even that's the case, how can they do that without your permission to do so? I can see, if a word or phrase hit the radar of being against whatever ZOS, they would send you a message of a such and should have requested you to change the name as well as should had attached an explanation or something of what the conflict is. I would be ticked off too if I was giving something like this that I hadn't chosen or gave permission to; if that's what you're saying. This doesn't make sense that they would outright just change your account name like that.
Yes, they can change your name without your permission

And people say ZOS doesn't have a sense of humor!

I reviewed the code of conduct, and I don't think there's anything graphic about my name, it's just funny. This left a pretty sour taste in my mouth, I don't make a lot of money but I love Elder Scrolls and wanted to support it. Gimme back my name ZOS!

As others have pointed out, I'm amazed that most people in this thread have survived this long on the net. Poor sheltered folks.

Or just snowflakes that have no sense of humor and can't take a joke. Video games are entertainment - not something that's suppose to be taken seriously. Life is serious enough - video games are an escape for some to just have fun no matter how ridiculous some of you find it.
Not going to lie - I have what I guess you could call "traditional" names for my RPG characters except for the 1 - and it's a funny name that people whisper me saying it made them laugh when they saw it. It's a ridiculous name on a ridiculous looking character because I made that one for fun and laughs. Yeah it's stupid and childish - but it's just for fun. If it offends someone - then they need to grow up - not me.

Nice Seinfeld reference.

Never been a fan of M rated games trying to make players abide by PG rules.
You're suppose to be 17 or 18 to buy this game any way and they have an issue with that name? Hypocrites.
