Never ever use Nirnhoned on the off-hand weapon in a dual-wield setup.

Nirnhoned increases the damage stat of that weapon. In dual-wield, the main-hand weapon contributes 100% of its damage stat, while the off-hand contributes only 20% of its damage stat. You're far better off with Sharpened or Precise on the other weapon, while keeping Nirnhoned on the main hand.

That's incorrect. It increases the damage stat of the weapon, which in turn goes into your character's weapon/spell damage stat, which in turn affects your ability damage.


And to clarify my earlier post, they "stack" in the sense that you can use 2x nirnhoned weapons, and you will gain damage from a 2nd nirnhoned weapon. But because of the way dual-wield stats are calculated, having a nirnhoned weapon in the off-hand slot is extremely inefficient, and you're better off with another trait. (In general, though, nirnhoned is very underwhelming, and when dual-wielding, you're usually better off with 2x sharp or 1x sharp or 1x precise, but 1x nirn and 1x sharp isn't a bad combination, as long as you make sure the nirn weapon is on the main-hand slot, not the off-hand slot.)
