Righty or Lefty?

Ok, this has been bugging me for a week.

For some reason, when I pick locks, I always go to the far right and do the pins back to the left. I should start on the left and pick towards the right, but I don't. I can't seem to break this habit. It made me wonder whether people were right-to-left, or left-to-right lock pickers. This is obviously the most important question in my head today, worthy of a poll. Please, feel free to volunteer your answer, or not, as you see fit. If you sacrifice virgin livestock each time, I guess I don't need an answer, unless you think someone else on here can provide virgin livestock to you. Poll is public so the latter two can hook up.

I have no set order and will just go after whatever pin I land on first. If I move the mouse too fast and skip one, I will go back to it after the pin I land on or at the end of picking the lock. Works well for me, as I haven't failed a chest in I don't remember how long, and might break one pick a month.

I have some other method that I use

I do start at the right side, mostly because my cursor tends to be there and pulling the mouse towards me feels more natural. However, I don't strictly go right to left. My mouse is set super sensitive, so a small motion might move me a couple of tumblers. I go for whatever tumbler I'm over, and sometimes if I miss the unlock on it I move to the next then go back once I know where the sink-level is. Again, it's easier to do lateral/diagonal motion than precision upwards moves.

I haven't run out of time even on Advanced chests yet, so max efficiency isn't a concern.

It starts me on the center pin, so I do that one, then right, then right, then leftleftleft, then left.

I do the pins right to left

I go right to left as well and like you I've sometimes wondered why I don't do it the other way around.

Left to right seems logical since that means starting at the front and working your way to the back. But I think because the lockpick starts in the middle I see it as having missed the front two tumblers already, and of course starting in the middle would be silly so the only sensible choice is to go all the way to the end and work my way back.

Not that I think about it in that much detail at the time of course. I just see the UI appear, move to 'the starting point' and get going.

I start in the middle because that's where the pick is. I go middle to right and then all the way left and finish with the second pin. Once I get the passives, I force all locks.

It varies, I sort of came up with a method where I'll test a couple pins first, if I am lucky they are the short hold ones, and can be done super quick, and even if I don't hold it quite long enough, I can memorise the position it was going to be unlocked at, and shoot back to it when the others are done.

I have some other method that I use

I start wherever. Sometimes on the right. Sometimes on the left. Sometimes on the center. Sometimes if I wiggle my mouse, on the 2nd or the 4th pin. Doesn't much matter since they all are within reach of a minuscule touch to the mouse anyway.

Also never bothered with passives to break locks. Sure it's handy in dungeons and trials when everyone is looking over your shoulder waiting for that sweet powered moondancer frost staff to drop, and particularly in that first boss in WGT. But other than that, I have way more precious places to drop my skill points in.

Now, that is an interesting observation. I originally thought it was in the center, too. Then, I noticed that it wasn't. Maybe it is in the center, and something is happening to push it to the left before I see it? I suppose I should have my hands off everything to check.
