I have been told there is now a hard cap to increased movement speed buffs. Is this true?

Orc passive, Steed mundus, Major and Minor Expedition, sprinting, etc etc. Apparently there is now a cap where stacking additional sources of speed will not cause you to move faster.

I am told this was implemented because speed builds are op in Battlegrounds.

Is this the case now? I don't have an orc or a stam sorc to test high speed builds on.

If it is the case, can we have that nerf reverted outside of BGs? Lots of people use speed builds for farming mats, collecting skyshards and lorebooks, and running around in Cyrodiil.

Yeah they added a hard cap. Apparently they didn't like it when people could outrun a sprinting 60 speed mount.

So what's the cap? And how do you know if you've reached the cap?

    Yes 100%

This is the answer to what the cap is. Previously a player could more than double their speed.

Thanks, you're of zero help. Anyone can help?

This is ZoS's answer to people making builds they dont like. Nerf it! Instead of letting people stretch the boundries of the possible and give actual build diversity, the standard method of operation is to nerf everything that falls outside the narrow bounds they decide are acceptable. It doesnt help that the player base is complicit in this type of thing.

@Balgost I will go a little more in detail for you. I quoted someone who provided the answer. Stacking buffs that increase speed will. It stack beyond a 100% speed increase.

Speed increase buffs are percenftage based so probably add up those percentages.

This really affects werewolves in a bad way. They should have just added a debuff in BG to stop this build in there only. I really think they nerfed it because people found a way to move fast without waiting/paying for mount speed.

Probably more for other reasons like scroll running. Idk. Just a guess. BGs are fairly small environments.

    IMHO, yup.

The speed build killed no one, and much was sacrificed to make it work. It was a utility build that was not part of the great DPS meta, therefore ZOS had to kill it.

shut up and play the meta aparently :(

You can no longer increase your total Movement Speed bonus to more than 100% of your base Movement Speed.

    Developer Comment:
This change should only affect builds that are stacking all the Movement Speed bonuses in the game, and should prevent some of the extreme movement those builds are able to do in situations like Battleground flag running. This also prevents instances where those builds could run faster on foot than via a mount.

We need people who build things like this for very niche builds. So it was only viable if you grabbed the scroll. That's diversity. But ZOS didn't approve. It wasn't a strong build for anything else. It was also very costly on potions. But hey Red mountain rings were on sale for the 3rd time.
